I needed to pick up a bottle of Gin and was driving by the Capilano liquor Depot today on the my way home. I have never been in there before but thought I would run in and grab it quick. I had my daughter with me who came in the store as she has done many times before in different liquor stores. I walked in with my daughter behind me, I grabbed the bottle and went to the till with my daughter in tow. The guy at the till said he needs to see ID from us and I show him mine, then he says he needs to see my daughters ID. I told him I am the one buying it and I showed you mine. He says it doesn’t matter that she is with me so he needs to see hers too. I said she doesn’t have ID she’s a minor and he said that he can’t sell anything to me then and was very rude about it. I have been in many different liquor stores and I have never had this issue. The sign on the door clearly states that you can be asked for ID if you appear to look under the age of 25 years old. I am 47 and have no problem showing my ID, which I did. The sign on the door also indicates that minors are permitted in the store when accompanied by an adult which my daughter was. My daughter did not touch or carry anything she was just beside me. But yet I was still refused sales just because she was with me. That doesn’t even make any sense considering the liquor laws in Alberta permit minors in liquor stores when accompanied by an adult. But obviously not at the Liquor Depot in Capilano. So I left and we stopped at the next liquor store I drove passed, me and my daughter walked in I grabbed a bottle of Gin like I did before and walked to the till. The cashier had no problem selling it to me and even made friendly small chat with my daughter and we were on our way. Fyi to anyone that plans on bringing their kids into the Liquor Depot in Capilano be prepared to be refused sales even though the sign on the door indicates minors are allowed. I will never go back to the Liquor Depot in Capilano Mall it’s not worth the hassle, I’ll spend my money elsewhere

Pretty good prices and very friendly staff. Generally speaking it is a pleasure to shop here.

Best Liqour store In town

They have lots of really good things that a lot of liquor stores don't have surprisingly enough especially they carry a huge line of exotic tequila

Liquor Express, Hmmm I wonder what they sell here let me guess maybe liquor. Yes in all it’s glorious forms. For a smaller store it is surprising the variety of choices there are, wine, beer, coolers, hard liquor and other choices. The store is well lit and clean. The staff is friendly and courteous. It is a store for a quick visit to get what you want not conducive to taking your time if you don’t know what you want. There are big box stores for that. This is the local store for a quick in and out.

This place has half the selection a normal liquor store. They have barely a cooler selection to choose from

Sam is always friendly and has very reasonable prices. Location is easy to get to just about from any direction. My Go To store.

Store is well stocked with all types of alcoholic beverages. They have deals on certain items and regular low prices on different product. Clean, safe and well staffed.

Very small selection, but not terrible. Lots of options from different prices but not a huge variety. Staff working was nice. Wish they had more chilled items.

Very competitive rates. Sometimes there prices beat Costco liquor store as well. Staff is also very friendly and welcoming.

'Happy' is always ready to help you. For the regular customer...you may get a discount.

Best liquor store in hood, the guy who works their is most friendly and down to earth person i have ever meet in my life, always step up to help people. Play good music and the most important thing gives good deals and we always leave with smile.

Welcome to Albertino Liquor... to the right will likely be one of the really friendly owners. To the left full shelves of liquor from all over the world. Sam, one of the owners called us, wanted some ice, we were excited. We stopped by and what we found was a liquor store with personality. A place where a few families are fed each time you buy liquor and ice from here. Sam’s family and mine. That is the beauty of local, of the independent, you are not giving your money to wealthy people with lots of it, you are giving it to a few people who live and work around where you live. When Sam takes his family for dinner, it could be at a restaurant where you work. Sam is able to feed his family because you shop at his liquor store. You are able to feed yours because Sam buys the food where you work. I am crazy. I love the independent, the try to compete against giants. You never get rich, you pay your bills, save enough for a vacation each year. I am really excited to have Albertino Liquor as a client. You should to because when you support local as they do with ice based on where ice is manufactured, you are helping create manufacturing jobs in the Edmonton area. The proof in the pudding is the boss bought Ouzo and I bought Fish Bone IPA. Just by using the local ice company they increased their sales, got a 5 star review, ... and more... because I am excited about jobs where I live. We should all be excited by jobs where we live. Albertino Liquor is creating jobs where we all live. I applaud them!

Doesn’t comply with Skip the dishes or any 3rd part distributors..

Sam's liquor has the best selection I have seen in a long while. So much so that the last time I saw a selection like it...it was when I was a kid with my parents. Will buy again even if it's not my own neighborhood store.

We bought several cases of wine from this establishment and the bottles we opened ended up being rotten. Went back the next day and asked to return the rest of the wine purchased and they refused. Told us they don't accept returns even though they sold us bad wine. The manager told us that we should have looked for expiration dates or floating scum in the wine (neither of which was present). These guys are crooks selling ruined products. Beware!
