Financial Advisors

I'm not one for reviews, but felt compelled to warn people to avoid wasting their time with Freedom 55. More specifically, we recently met with one of their advisors (Meagan Ratz) and was blown away with how clueless she was. I have confirmed she provided incorrect advice/facts, and when we raised several issues she just shrugged them off and kept telling us how 'knowledgable' she is. If this is the type of people working at this company I would stay far, far away!

Carman's been doing my financial planning and RRSP's ever since he located his office in North Delta BC. What I like best about him is that he takes the time to explain things well, especially which investments are riskier than others, and which stocks, bonds and mutual funds are the safest for growth, etc. It's helped me make money decisions I'm comfortable with, and I've had some very good and steady growth in my portfolio as a result. I really trust his advice. You can contact him easily (almost impossible to do with my old financial advisor in Vancouver), parking is plenty and free, and the staff are always friendly and smile every time I arrive. One time they even took me and my wife for lunch across the street!

Kelsey Smart has been my financial advisor for over 5 years. During this time I have has professional advice and support that has helped me make good choices with my RRSP and other financial planning. While, in theory at least, I could manage my portfolio without help, I'm convinced that by working with Kelsey I have experienced a higher growth in my portfolio. I value the personal approach that Kelsey takes with her clients and feel that she has my best interests in mind when recommending different financial planning scenarios and approaches. I'm a satisfied customer!

Brilliant

This branch, and the one on Georgia are like most CIBCs. They are a bottom of the barrel institution. I hear more complaints about this financial institution than all of the others combined. They arbitrarily close lines of credit. They treat clients like hell. Depositing here, if it's not your branch, is awkward as hell, even though it's the same bloody bank. They are rude and curt. Twice I've been told things at this branch that were absolutely not true. Instead of just saying, "I don't know, but I can find out" they answered with bad information. People who do that are extremely dangerous. Don't bank at any institution with red or burgundy in the logo. It seems they all share these same issues. Coincidence?
