Transform Martial Arts and Fitness
1963 Kingdom Plaza, Waterloo, New York, 13165, United States
This dojo is located in the old Nationwide offices, next to the tanning salon.
John does an amazing job at teaching his students. He teaches numerous age groups: starting from preschoolers all the way to adults!
He teaches his young students important character qualities, such as patience, kindness, courage, etc. every month.
Not only does John teach a lot, he gives even more. The dojo hosts events that support a children's hospital in Rochester, he encourages students to bring canned foods for the local food pantry, and he teaches after school classes at Cady Stanton for free!
His students love him, and so do the parents. John does a lot for the community and for his students, and he is not in the least bit arrogant about his school or his experience. I could go on and on but what you need to know is, it is an incredible dojo taught by a martial arts enthusiast and you cannot go wrong signing up yourself or your child there. You can even try it out for free!

The Jung Do Martial Arts Academy provides its students with an extremely well rounded and thought out experience. Master Cumming leads instruction with high level martial arts training in a welcoming environment. Required of each student to round out this instruction is an unwavering mutual respect for others and community, discipline, and FUN. My son eagerly looks forward to each class, camp, or event as do we. We would recommend Jung Do without hesitation to any prospective student or family.

Succulent, moist, fresh. These are just some of the thoughts you may be experiencing when you dine in at Tallack Martial Poutinery. Served fresh and hot, with just the right amount of Goju gravy and a HEAPING portion of Tallack's cheese. I highly recommended the poutinery to all non diabetics.
Koketsu Kai - Tiger's Den Jiu-jitsu and Grappling
745 Development Dr, Kingston, Ontario, K7M 4W6, Canada
I have been training at Tiger's Den for a little over 2 years, and I am still excited to come to class every time.
The Jukoshin Ryu Jiu-Jitsu syllabus is brilliant. It's a straight to the point, no non-sense self defense that gives you a variety of techniques to deal with attackers in a variety of situations (headlocks, hair grabs, chokes, etc...), while also leaving room for techniques to be applied at different intensities depending on who is attacking you (be it a friend who is acting up, or someone out to seriously hurt you).
On top of this extremely useful syllabus, Sensei Jamie Rickard has also devised a exception grappling based system, CGA (Combined Grappling Arts), which revolves around both self-defense and sport grappling. I am always really excited to learn new escapes, locks, and chokes, as it still amazes me the vastness of the techniques that can be applied. We actually grapple quite a bit to ensure we are able to apply these techniques in 'live' situations. This is one of my favorite parts, as it is extremely challenging both mentally and physically.
Sensei Jamie Rickard is an incredible instructor. He is humble, extremely talented, and eager to share what he has learned and created in order to help you reach your full potential.
I also really appreciate the learning environment in which we all work. Fellow students are mature, respectful, and extremely helpful in working together through the various syllabuses. We all have a lot of fun training together, and it really makes the whole experience more enjoyable.
I have tried a variety of other places and styles of martial arts, and I can say without a doubt that these are the best styles and this is the best place I have ever trained at.
If this sounds like a place you could see yourself training at, you should come by and take the free 3 classes, you won't be disappointed!

I've been attending here for a little over a year and advanced three belts. I'm mostly here for my health and I'm much happier here than going to a gym. The instructors are extremely helpful and friendly. Wonderful place.
