Hongry Kong puts in a solid effort to make Hong Kong cafe style food, and it's pretty decent. I think it has the potential to be something great, but it's not quite there yet. I had the curry beef brisket and tendon over rice, an egg tart, and milk tea. The beef brisket and tendon was mostly tendon, which is fine with me. I love me some tendon! For $8, I do believe that there should have been more brisket though. The beef was a bit rough and stringy and wasn't that flavorful on its own, but the spices in the curry helped lift it a little. There's also some carrots and potatoes mixed in. I did like that the potatoes were fried before being added to the curry. They had a deep fried flavor that mixed well with the spices. Imagine home fries smothered in curry. It was a welcome surprise, since I didn't expect that from a food truck. Heck, not many brick and mortar cafes do that. There's a healthy portion of rice underneath too, which kept me adequately satisfied. With a little work, this could be a real winner. I definitely wasn't expecting the egg tart to be Golden Gate Bakery status, and it's really not bad. The crust is pleasantly light, crispy, and flaky. The egg custard is smooth, although it could be sweeter and have a more eggy richness. Overall, it's good enough to hold its own. I don't know if it's a deal at $1.25. In terms of food truck prices, I guess that's around the right range. The best part about this truck was the milk tea. The rich creaminess gave it a full bodied mouthfeel, and the tea was brewed strong enough to give it a bold, robust earthiness. The finish was just slightly harsh, and it's almost borderline too sweet and heavy, but it's a solid milk tea by Bay Area standards. I recommend that you order it without ice so it doesn't get diluted. I just wish there was an option to order it hot. I would rate the food in the 3 star territory, but I feel like giving Hongry Kong 4 stars because of the milk tea. That's how much milk tea means to me.

Excellent spot on Laurel Street. It's packed any time of day - for good reason! Filet was delicious and was surprised with how good the sushi was. Made a reservation for my wife's birthday and they personalized the menu and gave us a complimentary bread pudding... Both of which were an excellent touch! Next stop is TOWN for brunch.

Incredibly fresh sashimi, great miso and they know how to pour a nice draft (asahi). Everything was delicious, my only tiny complaint was the wasabi didn't have quite the taste I'm used to but was still ok. Overall a great place with a romantic dark setting.

Excellent Mexican food! The enchiladas are delicious with plenty of sauce and cheese on top, and the chicken quesadillas were hot and the chicken juicy. The salsa is excellent and quite spicy, so be advised if you have a sensitive stomach. Best Mexican on the peninsula, IMO. Friendly staff, too.

I loved this place. The thing I liked the most is it closes later than most other places. The beer selection is good. I'd like having a home brewn dark beer option like Porter. The food is great.

Great place for a quick bite at a reasonable price. I had the mushroom burger and it was really good, a lot of flavor! Make sure if you have a sesame allergy to ask for a bun without sesame seeds. I would definitely return here again when I'm in the area!

If you’re thinking “Oh, I actually can go to Chipotle rather than driving out of my way to Qdoba because Chipotle now has queso..” don’t do it!! Obviously a company-wide issue, but it’s honestly terrible. The consistency is like forcing a cheddar cheese block to melt in a hot pan and then adding copious amounts of flour— super grainy and tastes nothing like “normal” queso you would get anywhere else. I understand their issue with not having Velveeta-like queso because it compromises their naturally-sourced status, but take a note from the mom and pop Mexican restaurants and use the white queso that is creamy, rich, and natural! Regarding the individual store— pretty average space and is located in the same parking lot as TJ Maxx/Marshalls and Starbucks. This is convenient sometimes, but makes close parking actually hard to find during peak shopping times.

Really liked the food. Black cod melts in your mouth. Sushi is not smothered in rice. Chawanmushi was delicious. Can get a little noisy. Something to keep in mind if you really want to talk at dinner.
