All the 19th century elements of the Rideau Canal infrastructure are here: a flight of two stonemasonry lock chambers, the upper well above ground level, hand-operated wooden lock doors and valves, a visible stonemasonry dam above and a cut into bedrock below -- along with a late 19th century stone pier railway bridge above, a modern rotary swingbridge at the entrance to the basin, and whitewater rapids below the weir spillway. Brought my boat in to get a cooling impeller installed and to check for a leak, I was told it would take about two weeks to get fixed. I checked in with them on the status just before two weeks was up and after many phone calls not being answered or returned they finally answered and told me that they have to order the parts. After another few weeks they said the parts are still on order and they are not sure on the holdup. I called around and found the part in Barrie and had it delivered to them. They installed it and charged me a fair price for install. Two hours labour . They also told me that they added a bit of sillicone to a few spots and floated the boat for a day and it seems much better.
My only Issue is that they are to busy to answer the phone or return calls.
When I got back to Barrie I noticed that my boat had some major scrapes and light dings on one side of it. The paint has been scraped off. I have been trying to call them for a few days with no answer to address this.
The worst part is that I have bumpers on the other side which can easily be moved from side to side.
I hope they see this and get back to me.
And they are more carful in the future to other people’s boats
