We just finished a great day of fishing with Captain Ted and his comfortable, well equipped 28 foot boat "Great White" - and we could not have had a better time. I read with great interest the earlier reviews, and the one by Jon D from 2014 is now too old to have any relevance, or value - this guide is patient, knowledgeable, and not at all in any way disrespectful to the fish, the environment or foul mouthed - I could give accolades, but I will simply say, I'm in customer service, and he can work for me any day! His attitude is sincere, his boat impeccable, his equipment top notch - maintained as would be expected of a first-class captain. OK, the weather was close to perfect (the waters off Dundas Island - like glass), the fish close to ridiculously willing, the bald eagles behaving like show-offs; trying to steal our catch, and if that was not enough, we even saw whales - could it get any better? Oh, did I mention the multiple strikes, the moments when the fish seemed to queue to come aboard, and the laughs when "it was time to move on to a new location", and the next fish struck on that phrase, just when we were about to leave? YES, the boat is very comfortable, and the 4-stroke dual Yamaha engines are whisper quiet; with no smell of diesel - no nauseous odor. And Ted's knowledge of the area is very impressive - no "searching", just fishing - all the good spots were stored in the GPS, and off we went - never a dull moment. But it is not just salmon and halibut - skate, dogfish and flounder - keeping only those that were appropriate - releasing the smaller ones to fight another day - sports fishing at its best! Once back at the dock, Ted expertly prepares the fish to your liking, and off you go, knowing that a day has just happened that you will never forget - the final pic, is of a friend's vacuum machine prep - good idea if you plan to freeze the fish - and with so many, no choice! I can't say I've tried the rest but I somehow I know I found the best - Thank you!

We decided to dock instead of anchoring to get some business and looked for a place with Wi-Fi. They said they had it, but not really.. Could not even download an app for my phone on it or do updates. We did laundry and had much better service at the laundromat!!!. It is not protected dock so we got waves all night and was so upset that they lied about having Wi-Fi... The other marinas we stayed at had it and they were broadcasting 2 other networks that did not drop off every 5 seconds... Tried to call about it, but no answer. AVOID!!!

What an incredible whale watching experience my grandchildren and I had today. It doesn't get any better then this. There were multiple breaches, pec slaps, tail slaps, spy hopping and non stop bubble net feeding. Thank you Captain Doug Davis for making this a memorable day.

Has everything a cruiser needs: laundry, Wi-Fi, showers, shore power, water, etc. No fuel but fuel dock is nearby. Short walk into town for provisions. Staff is helpful and friendly. 4 stars rather than 5 because Wi-Fi is a bit inconsistent on the breakwater, moorage is expensive (but they're the only marina in town with everything so they can get away with it), and strong currents can make docking difficult.

I spent 4 days hiking around Lac Laberge with Jenine, and had a FABULOUS time. The dogs were great, the hikes were awesome, conversation was fabulous! And I learned so many things about dog sledding, and the way of life way way way off the grid! Amazing time, highly recommend to anyone looking for summer hiking (not a fan of winter or snow!!!)
