Going to the dentist terrifies me (insert drill noise). But I had the most pleasant experience at Good Neighbor in Great Neck. Friendly, quick, and painless. Was actually not dreading making my next appointment for once.

First, I would like to say Dr. Karp and his staff are absolutely wonderful, and I will miss them. In May, I was seen by Dr. Fields for a crown. During that awful very very long visit of attempting to place a temporary crown on, my nightmare began. While prepping for the crown Dr Fields mistakenly placed a pin in the bone and could not retract it. I asked her to just remove it and she said that she had tried and was unable to do so and would send me to oral surgeon. I of course was shocked and said, "what", and her reply was she not remove it, but don't worry she would pay for oral surgeon to remove. Wow! Next came time for her to fit and place temporary crown on which took about 2 hours. After leaving with very sore mouth and looking at oral surgery I was quite upset. Now mind you I have never had oral surgery so I did not know what I was about to face. Dr Fields made it sound very simple, but failed to mention the pain that I was about to encounter. After about week I went to oral surgeon appointment. Surgeon informed me that he would be doing a crown extension, which I had no clue what it entailed (since Dr Fields did not make me aware of), or how bad it would make my mouth feel. Surgery done and several days of being in horrible pain and unable to open my mouth or sleep on that side, pain medicine, and another visit back to surgeon in six weeks to be sure healed properly. Now it is July, since my mouth from surgery had to completely heal before I could have a permanent crown done that I still have my temporary crown. Yep the one that was so poorly shaped and placed that I have not been able to chew or use since May because of sharp edges and sensitivity. Now its August and I went to another dentist that I paid-out-of pocket for him to take the sharp edges off so that it would not cut my jaw or tongue. Now at this point it is September and still have temporary crown on and ready to just pull the tooth. I contacted another dentist that accepted my insurance and had decided that I would just pull the tooth because I was sick of dealing with the sensitivity and unable to chew on that side. Next I went to my current dentist and he said no reason to remove the tooth. So he made me a temporary crown which fit amazing. I left his office being able to chew on that side and a crown that didn't cut my jaw or tongue. A couple weeks later my permanent came in and I was in and out in about 15 minutes. Thanks Dr. Joe. Long story short, my nightmare began in May and finally got my my tooth fixed by November after visiting a total of 2 other dentists and an oral surgeon. Needless to say I DO NOT RECOMMEND HER!

Dr. Edmonds and staff were both friendly and most professional. They have restored my faith in Dentists that do what they say. It was a most gratifying experience, even after years of fear that kept me away.
Definitely recommend to any who are afraid of dentists.

Dr Trent is truly one of the best oral surgeons you could have. Also his dental assistants (esp Cindy and Melissa,I believe thats her name.) go above and beyond! The front desk staff (Esp Sarah!) are so welcoming and kind.
I just had a few teeth extractions at his office yesterday. I was pretty nervous, however his staff put me at total ease, and when Dr Trent put the IV in I barely felt it...seriously!
I could write forever and ever about these wonderful people. They are truly one of the best dental practices I've ever been to. See I have a rather complicated medical history...which my mom and I had explained to Dr Trent at the consultation...and he wasn't even shocked, he was just like "Ok lets do this". To him it wasn't a big deal at all, which put me at ease.
Oh and to the people saying about long wait times..stick it out. You couldn't be in better hands...it is worth the wait.
Also I can not believe I am actually saying this but that surgery/appointment I had yesterday was no one of the most comfortable times I've ever had in a dental office. Usually I'm a mess going to the dentist but these guys make you feel so comfortable and at ease even before they begin the procedure. They are just really kind people.
Dr Trent called my house last night to check up on me, and how I was feeling. You don't hear dentists/oral surgeons doing that these days, so that was so nice of him to do.
(Oh btw I've barely had any swelling and no pain)
