Flooring

Friendly and helpful.

Roy and his team did an amazing job with my wood floors. They transformed old, scratched up, water-stained (from dog's water bowl) floors into a beautiful display all around my living room, dining room, laundry room, den, and hallways. He was super flexible with timing and finished the job without wasting any time. He's friendly and cheerful, and I would highly recommend his team if you need this type of work done on your floors.

I live in Washington DC but I needed to remodel my apartment in New York City. I considered some contractors in New York but in the end I chose Deco Home Design from Washington to install the new floors. You might think this decision was odd, but after taking into account costs, experience of the installers, and the sound advice given to me, I made the right choice in doing the work with Deco Home Design and I’m thrilled with the results. I initially went to their showroom, on McArthur Boulevard, to look at carpeting they carried that I had seen on the Internet. I was still considering different flooring options: replacing the existing carpet; doing away with the carpet and refinishing the parquet that lay underneath; or installing new flooring. Joe Kowkabi, the owner, showed me the carpeting I had researched and explained to me its pros and cons, as well as suggesting some other options I had not considered, even though I had explained to him that the remodeling was to be done in New York with New York contractors. That was not a problem for him. He was very helpful and did not want me to make a mistake. He was patient in answering several questions I had and in explaining some of the technical aspects of the different flooring options available, such as carpets, vinyl plank, engineered hardwoods, etc. Because his showroom is so well stocked, I was able to see and compare all these options. I was so favorably impressed that I later returned to ask him for a cost estimate to see if it was feasible for him to do the job in New York. His estimate, which allowed for two trips of his crew to New York, was lower than the quotes I had and I agreed to do the job with him. The engineered oak hardwood floor he installed is beautiful. And as an added bonus, Joe’s wife Fazi, who is an interior designer, helped my wife choose the paint colors for the apartment. Thank you Deco Home Design!

Very nice Tractor Supply. Manager (Roger) is accessible and helpful, staff is always quite pleasant and helpful. Short lines and they are VERY responsive to opening up a new register if the line is more than 3 deep. They are not rated like Lowes but they carry a lot of hardware, sometimes stuff the bigger chains don't have. Really extensive and wholesome pet and farm animal food selection... I know a lot of folks who say this is their go-to store for pet food, collars, beds, crates, tie outs, name it. Better than a lot of dedicated pet stores plus they carry basic harness and tack, all the way up to small farm machinery and cattle grates! Husqvarna chainsaw dealer and repair shop. And that's not all. Men's and women's work clothes and classy western wear, work boots and cowboy boots, goooood prices on basic work jeans (think $12 and made in the USA), coveralls and overalls and wellies. If you work (as opposed to sitting at a desk) you should check this store and the chain out. Some pretty nice leather goods and not a bad jewelry section if you're dating the right gal. Parking is free and plentiful and staff will help you load, handicap access and automatic doors. Open 7 days a week (limited hours on Sundays). This is a chain store with a very home town small hardware vibe. And you have to love the smell of leather, horse feed and denim as you walk in the doors.

I always love to go to Roses reasonable priced and always a very clean store.

I found Mr. Choe on Home Advisor after having a nightmare experience with another contractor. I needed my flooring completed and was hesitant to allow another stranger in my house. Mr. Choe responded promptly using email and text. He schedule the estimate around my schedule, arriving on time and quickly understood what I needed. He also recommended I preserve the hard wood flooring on my staircase instead of covering it up, and what a difference does it make!. Through out the project he was professional, efficient and communicated with me the status of everything. Pictures speak a thousand words, and for Mr. Choe, they are all positive. He is what you expect and SHOULD EXPECT from any contractor. I will hire him again.
