As a young person interested in getting into woodcraft, I thought this gentleman would be a little more helpful or excited to give me advice. Instead, his demeanor was very rude, and he seemed impatient as if wanting the exchange to be over ASAP. While I was browsing, another customer came in and he was very short with them as well, and incredibly unhelpful. It's a shame this is one of the only woodcraft supply stores in the valley! He is a terrible businessman.

I don't know his name but he was - I think - in charge of TIRES and TIRE REPAIR at Canadian Tire in Courtney, BC. Just before 8 pm on Saturday July 29 one of my tires got torn open at a Shell Station (by a nasty screw sticking out from the island the pump was on) just outside Courtney. That tire went totally flat fast; it was useless. I don't know anyone in Courtney and was alone. I live in Vancouver and was heading for the Nanaimo - Horseshoe Bay ferry. I am in my 80th year. The young woman at the Shell station called Canadian Tire for me on her phone. I spoke with your employee. It's a long story but after he'd left work and the Shell station had closed he realized there was still a big problem, drove to find me, solved the problem, ordered a tow truck which eventually came. I spent the night in my car in your parking lot and got the new tire in the morning. Got home Sunday. MANY THANKS to your wonderful employee who went far beyond his duty and responsibility!

Being the only store between here and Nanaimo, you'd understand if the store didn't offer great service; they don't have to, you don't have any other options! But, that isn't the case. The staff is consistently friendly and sincerely interested in your projects. The selection is vast and I promise you will always find exactly what you were looking for for your next project. And probably your next, like, six projects. My one complaint would be I'd like to see a larger area for looking through the pattern books, but they can only work with the space they have available. It's also worth mentioning it's the only craft store I've ever seen with a separate area for kids to play in while the parent shops, and I think that's just a really neat touch.

The owners are amazing, also the staff is extremely welcoming and helpful. It really is worth it to take your time looking around! They have some awesome hidden treasures in there.
