I made the mistake of buying my hearing aids online from a business recommended by a friend. I had issues with their performance from the beginning and eventually had to send them back to the online company for adjustment and repair, they had them for three weeks. When I got them back they were worse. My hearing aids now would not communicate with each other and the left instrument was much too loud through all four programs. The whole online process was very disappointing.
I decided to try to find a local hearing aid repair business to see if they might be able to fix my problem. I found Gordon's Hearing Aids and gave them a call. Because I had a technical question, the operator put me through to Mr. Gordon. I explained my problem to him, he asked a few questions and said even though he did not sell that brand he might be able to help and I made an appointment.
What Mr. Gordon did with my hearing aids: He hooked them up to his system. Because they were older and they were levels below the products he deals with, he did not have the software in his system to access the devices. He called the manufacturer of my units, got hold of the technical department, gave them the serial numbers of my units and got the manufacturer to email him the discontinued software needed to look at and adjust my instruments. He loaded and opened the software and found that my hearing aids were mismatched instruments. They were actually two different level hearing aids made by the same company. The hearing aids I bought were discontinued before I made my purchase online. Two of the four programs were mismatched, which probably explains why program 3 and 4 really never worked right. The left units sound level was way too high and I was not able to balance the sound right to left on any of the 4 programs. At that point, I thought that I probably had to get a couple new hearing aids but Mr. Gordon said, "I love a challenge" and one and a half hours later he basically was able to take my junk hearing aids and reprogram them to work together...with my remote. He even was able to eliminate the feedback screech throughout all programs. He put the aids in my ears and adjusted all frequencies from low to high, added base and reduced treble on each of the four programs as well as the individual program sound levels. He worked through all of these problems and made my horrible hearing aids work better than I thought they ever could. His persistence, knowledge and professionalism is amazing. I can not believe how much better and how comfortable my hearing aids are now. He did all of this while I sat in his office in one visit.
Oh, his price for this remarkable service was less than half of the service fee the online company charged...and no shipping or going without ears for three weeks. I highly recommend Gordon's Hearing Aid Center. When I need hearing aids again, I will buy them from Gordon's.

You work directly with the owner which is the audiologist. Makes you feel comfortable with the issues you are having. It seem very stressful taking the test. Don't worry she will get you right where you need. I found out that my hearing loss was not that bad but what the true problem was the internet based phones that my work uses. All I needed was an in line amplifier for the time being.
