Room was right beside the elevator shaft. Alot of noise from it. Had a bad night sleep. Neighbor were partying all night (not hotel fault), at least they did something about it. Room was dirty and they say they give free voucher taxi to the airport but first thing you know you have to pay an extra 6$ for this service.

Apothic Inn
169 Victoria St E, Amherst, Nova Scotia, B4H 1Y6, Canada
My girlfriend and I were very fortunate enough to be able to spend two nights at the Apothic Inn and the only downside is that we weren't able to stay for longer.
We had a wonderful experience staying here at the inn with Rhonda and even if you don't plan on visiting anywhere in the immediate area and you're just passing through I would still recommend spending the night here before venturing onward.
The location is ideal, a short walk from the historic downtown area of Amherst and a short 5 minute drive away from the main Highway in the region so it's very easily accessible and you can quickly get out of town the next morning to get where you need to go.
The inn is located inside of a historic Victorian era home with plenty of charm and a very welcoming feel to it making it seem like you're visiting your parents or something earlier friends rather than just another inn.
The host Rhonda is one of the loveliest people I have ever met and she was the highlight of our entire trip to the Maritime's. Rhonda is easy to talk to and generally interested in what you have to say along with being an incredible host that's always there to ensure that you're having a great time at the inn.
We stayed in two different rooms during our visit and both of them were well equipped for a short-term stay, comfortable, spacious, and perfectly suited for two people.
Rhonda definitely has a knack for interior design and you can't help but wander around in admiration as you explore the home and get settled in your own room.
One of the best parts of the stay was the world class breakfast that Rhonda cooked up each morning and be sure to ask her for her recommendations so that you're able to get the best breakfast possible!
Despite always being around, Rhonda also tends to stay out of sight unless you need something so it's never imposing or awkward to spend time in the inn or to relax in the public areas.
The wifi worked great and there's free parking on site as well as on the street.
If you're planning on heading out for dinner make sure to ask Rhonda for recommendations.
Overall, I would definitely recommend staying here at the Apothic Inn as I found it to be the best place we stayed in more than three weeks of traveling across the maritimes and the service and value you get is some of the best you'll find anywhere you go.
The Regent Bed & Breakfast
175 Victoria St E, Amherst, Nova Scotia, B4H 1Y6, Canada
We spent 4 nights at The Regent while attending a workshop at Deanne Fitzpatrick’s rug Hooking studio. While The Regent has the potential to be an amazing home, I wouldn’t recommend this B&B to anyone until it has a THOROUGH cleaning. It has a very musty smell, the dust is so thick on the baseboards and top of pictures etc that you know it hasn’t seen a cleaner for a LONG time. The old furniture in the upstairs common area is covered in dust(allergy sufferers beware). I dropped something on the floor and had to get down and reach under the bed to retrieve it and the dust under there was disgusting( you can clearly see where the surface cleaning that the house has been receiving ends). Although the temperature was going down to close to zero at night the heat wasn’t turned on and it was very cold during breakfast.(we did notice the furnace running on the 3rd morning)
There were so many issues it’s hard to put them all down. We didn’t feel welcome and the house was cold so we went to our room and stayed there with the heat on. We only ever saw Jim (there didn’t appear to be anyone else around). The day we arrived we were asked what time we would like breakfast( served between 7 & 9) and then told it would be served at 8 am and then while sitting at the table having coffee and breakfast and talking to a couple of other women ( at 8:30) Jim walked in and announced it was time for us to be on our way or we’d be late??? I picked dog hair out of my yogurt 3 out of 4 days and the dogs (2) barked whenever we came in or moved about the house. One morning we had sausage (black and dried out) with eggs that were over cooked with no apology and not one person at the table was even asked HOW they like their eggs! And all this plus more for $175/night( we stayed Monday through Thursday night in May-what does he charge for peak season? I feel this home has gotten out of his control and maybe his health isn’t up to the challenge but in contrast this week we are in an air bnb in Picton Ontario and it’s warm and inviting and CLEAN (#thewoodvillechurch) circa 1828! And no musty smells...
I do need to apologize for an error in the above review-I said we paid $175/night, which was incorrect-I couldn't figure out how to edit-however we did pay $150/night split between the 2 of us-$75 each-$299 each for 4 nights-I see the owner says we paid below his posted rate of $65/night but we have the MasterCard receipt to show otherwise. I think we'll agree to disagree here-the dust was NOT from construction-I do know the difference. And I read other reviews that said the same thing about the smell and the dust AND the dogs so I'm still standing by my review. And I do believe there is wonderful potential here -it just needs to be addressed.
