Friendly and inviting family atmosphere, without sacrificing quality detailed instruction and high training standards. FANTASTIC for beginners of all ages (YES, bring your 4-year-old; you won't be sorry! NO, you are not too old to start!) and anyone that has always wanted to learn a fighting art from Level 0 without compromise and without judgement. I have over 10 years of martial arts training in three different disciplines -empty hand and armed, military and civilian - and I can say unequivocally that this is an *excellent* dojo. My 5-year-old son ended up here through the school-parent grapevine and I wasn't expecting much...but I couldn't have been more wrong. Within a month I had joined a class as well and the instructors accepted my lack of knowledge in their art, prior experience in other arts, and persistent injuries and took them in a graceful stride that cannot be understated. Young children learn discipline, respect, mindfulness, and the pride of hard-earned progression through positive reinforcement. Fitness is encouraged at all levels, totally judgement-free. Solid street-level self-defense is deftly incorporated into the curriculum. You truly cannot do better than Sensei Jaye and her team.

Sensei inspires and engages his students very effectively. He cares for each student. For the past 4 years, it has been an excellent place for our son to learn karate, as well as integrity, self-discipline, and how to be an effective part of a team. Sensei is an important part of our family.

I love coming to this dojo. The people are so supportive. All the black belts and the sensei are very knowledgable. There's no ego. Just support, and understanding.

I visited 313BJJ while in Detroit for the day. Zander and his team were great. Everyone was was very friendly and the class was fun. Will definitely be stopping by again when I’m in town. Cheers!!!

Very family friendly. Good for younger children that lack discipline. They seem to make the classes fun. Not an extreme workout by any means.

My child has attended BMA regularly for about two years. The instructors are enthusiastic and make every child feel like an important part of the class. My child loves going to class with her peers and has developed an esprit de corp. Besides learning Tae Kwon Do, kids also develop confidence, discipline and dedication at BMA. I highly recommend it.

My sons love working with master Thomas, he's very patient and hands on with the little ones! Lots of fun all while learning!!! I would recommend Ultimate Martial Arts Academy to anyone!
