I had always wanted to pursue a martial art, but wasn't able to make space for it in my life until I turned 25. As there are multiple styles and schools of martial arts, I researched summaries on as many as I could and took some online quizzes to narrow down my results. I wanted to be part of a martial art that had a long history (and taught that history and culture), used the body evenly, emphasized building a good defense to use offensively, and was more about building the character to win in life in general rather than emphasizing competition and sport. About the same time I was on the lookout, I received a grand opening flyer in my mail for Barron's Martial Arts. After reading into Tang Soo Do, I did the last step on my hunt for the "right fit" and called Master Barron up for a consultation and private intro lesson. Master Barron sounded formidable and succinct over the phone and garnered my respect and interest immediately. During my consultation, I asked A LOT of interrogating questions including why he, a practitioner of multiple martial arts, believed most in Tang Soo Do. His answers were satisfyingly informative and humble and I signed up and have since inspired my family to do the same. Master Barron does an honorable job in teaching and inspiring character growth in each class. Parents who witness (or partake in) the classes will come out having learned another set of motivational speech that can be shared and applied at home. Master Barron has also been able to give me and my family guidance and solace in our personal lives, and we can't thank him enough for how much he's played in making all of us better and better every day. He and the others we have had the privilege to meet throughout our studio and the World Tang Soo Do Association have been pivotal in the boost of self-esteem and confidence we've experienced since joining. Don't just take my word; I encourage everyone to always do their own research. But, if any of my review speaks to you, give Master Barron a call and meet him. Give you, your family, and him a reasonable time to see if Tang Soo Do and his teaching is a good fit. Martial arts is not one-size-fits-all, but if you do decide to try Tang Soo Do, then we look forward to having you in our family! (P.S. Master Barron has a great sense of humor once you get to know him.)

Too bad I can't give it 6 stars. I started with Master Blue about 2 years ago. After not having any martial arts experience Master Blue started my training at a level with which I was comfortable, while pushing me beyond my limits. He is a great instructor and a great friend. The classes are tough and not for the faint of heart, but Master Blue works with all levels and tailors the training to what is best for each student.

My and my son both train here. I really enjoy the different programs that are offered for adults and kids that take place at the same time so I know my son is doing something productive while I am getting my workout. I am waiting for my daughter to turn 4 so we can get her started in the little ninjas classes."

The Concealed Carry Tactical Skills Seminar was amazing yesterday. Even with having a military background I learned a lot, and had a lot of fun. It was a great three days of training.

This place is run pretty much completely by teenagers. While in it of itself is not a bad thing, there doesn't appear to be any adult guidance or supervision. For a place that claims to be special needs friendly, I would expect more qualified individuals to work with my specual needs sister. The teenagers like to joke around with each other during the session and are not very good and giving individual attention. There does not appear to be any experience in dealing with special needs individuals in this establishment. All they do in the special needs class is basic exercise that can be done at a local gym or even at home. My sister has gotten hurt due to improper matching of students in the special needs class. This place is nothing special and I wouldn't recommend this place atleast for special needs children. I have seen better run extracurricular activities for children with special needs.

We were struggling finding a right place for our son to start tae kwon do. Our son is very shy at first and if he doesn’t catch on right away to something he gets discouraged and wants to quite. Master Lance has truly been amazing and the key to our sons success. Easton just took to him immediately and he can’t wait to go each time. If he could go 7 days a week he would. Not only does he have fun but he has learned more discipline, self defense for his age and most importantly what it takes to keep trying until you get it. Thank you Defenders and Master Lance for all you e done for our son. - Chad and Meghan

If your are looking for a place to learn taekwondo than 'Elite Eagles' is a right place for you...the instructors are very nice but stricted at the sametime but they are strict only because they want you to know how to defend yourself when you need to...so if you are looking for a place to take your child to learn some self defense or if you kids out there wanting to learn how to self defense 'Elite Eagle' is a perfect for you or your kids!

I have been training here since 2009, when I was just a freshman in college, and I wouldn't trade a single minute to be at any other gym, dojo, or anywhere else. The lessons are hard and the techniques and exercises can be challenging- both physically and mentally- but it's worth it. This is a dojo that builds the whole person, not just the muscles. Through learning the techniques and working with the other students and teachers I've gained confidence as well as the skills to back it up. This is a particularly great place for women. I have been treated with respect as an equal from the moment I walked in the door. I am pushed just as hard as the guys and my own strengths and weaknesses are addressed so that I can excel. I have never felt like I had to prove myself just so the boys would recognize me as a martial artist, despite the fact that I'm a woman. The head instructor, Torey Overstreet, is a seasoned police officer and has seen his share of violence directed at women. He recognizes the particular fears girls and women may face on the street and is driven to equip us with effective self defense. We teach more than kicking, punching, joint locks, and throwing. We teach life skills.

I attended their kickboxing class one time and one time only. It was so sweltering hot that I just wanted to drop. The class was awesome, but the heat was unbearable. I wish they would keep the place cooler.
