Martial Arts

Started training here in 2013 and I've learned more than I could have imagined in that short period of time. Shen Chuan is a system that takes the concepts and principles of many martial arts and condenses them into a system that can provide you with the skills and confidence to get through a physical conflict and back home safely. Don't misunderstand Shen Chuan as "just a self defense class". It is that and so much more. Stop by and you'll find that we whole heartedly believe that "the best defense is a good offense". It's a system that adapts itself to you rather than you to it so it's for men and women alike. If you're looking for something that will challenge you both physically and mentally then this is it!

NBTC BJJ helps our son, who has ADHD, with following instructions and focus. The Sensei is so patient and willing to motivate and train every single child. We love this place. Thank you NBTC BJJ!!

West Haven is the best place to take your kids to learn Karate! Master Riley is a great role model for my son and daughter and I look forward to their growth, in part influenced from what they learn under his leadership. Not only is he teaching Karate but they are also learning discipline, manners, leadership, respect for leadership and much more. Master Riley inspires loyalty which is clear from all of the black belt volunteers assisting with training. I look forward to my kids advancing to black belt where they can also volunteer to help others learn the art and further grow their leadership skills.

Coach Caleb is excellent with my sensitive 5 year old daughter. He knows how to get her to focus on a task and make it fun, so she stays interested the whole class. All of the kid’s coaches are great, and every employee I’ve spoken with has been very polite and helpful.

It's amazing and fun

Great place, great coach
