Besides doing Aikido for a couple months, I'd never been a martial artist and found the thought of it intimidating. I'm glad I found NWJJA and Professor Brian Johnson. He is an excellent teacher and this comes from 1) being a masterful practitioner and lifetime student and 2) loving the sport of BJJ. The gym and the people reflect Professor Brian's personality--world class skill without arrogance, acceptance of all types of people, and dedication to helping students succeed as BJJ practitioners and human beings. I highly recommend just stopping by and visiting if you are even mildly curious about training BJJ.

There hasn’t been a day go by since the last time I was in this gym that I haven’t studied, practiced, dreampt of or planned for my future in BJJ. The instructors are incredibly helpful and knowledgeable, encouraging and all around amazing. The environment with the other students is more like a family, they instantly show you respect and what that really means, they cultivate your skill growth while working on their own and only add to the experience in every way. Your confidence will grow exponentially as Newborn shows you the ropes. Want to make your child grow in all aspects of life with the best outlook you can give them? This is the best present you can give them. IF YOU KNOW YOUR STUFF AND JUST WANT TO BEAT PEOPLE UP AND MUSCLE YOUR WAY AROUND go waste someone else’s time, you will be humbled and asked to leave very quickly, it’s obvious. Had to come Write this review because I haven’t been back in some time and I literally can not get my mind off of it. And if you don’t get bit by the bug I did? Give it a few tries, I guarantee you’ll get something out of the experience.

Sensei Matthew Thomas and Laurie Thomas are top quality people and instructors. You won't find better quality karate training in the region. They are great with children and all levels of student. Sensei Matthew is internationally ranked as one of the top ISKF practitioners and instructors in the world. The training is controlled and non-contact, so if you prefer MMA - style pain, and grappling try a different dojo.

My son recently attended a free trial of this class it was a great class he had fun the only thing I would say that's that's not so great about it is the cost it cost quite a bit but I think that the respect and morals they incorporate teach the kids sime great stuff and the ability to defend themselves I think it might be worth the cost in the end

I have been a member for a year now and absolutely love it. This is my first experience with martial arts and it has been amazing to see the change in myself. At first I was nervous and didn't really feel comfortable practicing and failing techniques in front of other people. I soon realized that this class attracts very encouraging, respectful and helpful people. I am much more confident in my ability to learn new physical skills and defend myself. Sensei Ryan is very knowledgeable and humble. I would recommend this class to beginners and experts alike.

This Dojo has been around for 14 years and has an excellent training regime. I highly recommend it.
