Always friendly, always helpful and everyone makes you feel welcome. You can be a returning member or a brand new person, and it is always welcome. The martial arts programs, both jiu jitsu and karate, are amazing! The teachers are helpful and accommodating!

When I first moved to Virginia Beach, I looked at many different dojos before deciding to join OBI Karate. We practice an Okinawan style called Shorin-Ryu which focuses on basic movements performed with power and balance for practical defense, rather than teaching flashy movie moves. Every class is a great work out and the small size of the school ensures plenty of one-on-one time with the teachers. I also really appreciate how involved the upper belts are with advising and training the lower belts. I have been training here for almost a year now. Bottom line, this is a great school if you are serious about learning karate. Everyone has a great attitude and is very patient and welcoming to new students. Definitely recommended!

I studied with this guy for a very short period. I remember it stated explicitly in his rules "no neck cranks". When I was grappling with Mr. Omilion, he mounted me and pulled my head forward so hard something popped in my neck and I couldn't turn my head one direction for a week. Not the best experience.

I have been training at TCA for 12 years. It's been a transformative experience for me. Kimberly Richardson is a skillful and compassionate instructor with a depth of understanding of the art that is incredibly impressive. Plus, it's fun! I started at age 50, fearful couch potato, and the entire dojo was welcoming and supportive to me. Join us!

I have been studying with Sifu DeJesus for a while and I believe she is the best there is. She is very knowledgeable and patient with her students/family. I say family because thats the type of atmosphere it is at Seattle Wushu Center a family. If you have the time I highly recommend checking out Seattle Wushu Center. You won't be sorry you did.

I have been training Capoeira for 4+ years in different cities and countries and really enjoy training with Jeff and Tara. It is a great atmosphere and a good group. They know how to teach and really help you develop physically and in all the other aspects of Capoeira. If you have not seen or tried Capoeira, I highly recommend coming in and trying a class.

Professor Drew Vogel is a great teacher of Jiu Jitsu who is very patient and kind to his students. He is a great representation of the art of Jiu Jitsu. The gym is clean and people are friendly!

I’ve been training here for three years. Learning about the culture and history from which this meaningful art and practice has come from has been humbling. I learn so much from the different instructors and the main teacher that translates to my daily life. A good workout, great community, difficult but meaningful history, and handstands! What more is there?

Chung's Black Belt Academy is fantastic! What I liked about Chung's Black Belt Academy is they were willing to tell a parent that their kid isn't ready for their program. Before joining, they recommend a trial class to assess if interested children are really ready-it isn't about just filling the place. They also give the kids individualized instruction in addition to group work. Right away during her trial class, I was so impressed and was excited for my daughter. What she was able to pick up in one class was amazing! She was truly part of a martial arts "family"-everyone worked together to succeed. I loved having my daughter here-she was learning team work, respect, self-discipline, and self-defense. It was so good for her and something she can do her whole life. I couldn't be happier with Master Chung and his staff.
