Paving Contractors

I recently called on Blake's for a small pavement side addition to our driveway. They came out and promptly gave me a price which seemed fair so I committed to the job with them. A little time passed and they called during the middle of our beach vacation to say they were coming to do it and I said I was away but it was fine if they wanted to go ahead and do it. What a pleasant surprise to receive a bill after the job for some less than they quoted advising it did not take as much stone as they priced in. And then what an even better surprise to return home from vacation to find a much nicer job than I had expected! Blake's gets a big thumbs up from me! They did an excellent job....

I've never seen such a horrible job. Still have cracks that's not filled. Dishonest. Not reliable. Do not even consider using them cause they use you. Very dishonest! !!

All together great experience from the start. Secretary was very friendly and informative. The gentleman who came and estimated and sealed the driveway was very prompt and courteous. He did an amazing job. My driveway hasn't looked so good since we first put it in. Will be using again for sure.

My husband works for R&L and I’ve seen most of his hard work! He does an awesome job!! I definitely recommend it! They work morning to late night sometime, and it’s hard hard work to do!! I’m very impressed!

"Thank you for your email requesting an estimate for your driveway. Unfortunately, we are completely booked through the summer 2017. Due to our overloaded schedule, we are unable to provide any estimates at this time. I apologize for any inconvenience and regret that we are unable to assist you with your project. If you should require any further assistance, please do not hesitate to ask. Have a wonderful day!" The above was the email I received from an inquiry to get an estimate. As you can see from the dismissive email is the lack of an option of future work. No where in my inquiry did I mention a time line. This company is fortunate enough to have ample work. Should that change, based on their attitude, their business will surely fail - quickly. I will never hire them and am going to let everyone of my Asheville friends, neighbors, and contractor friends know about this. Pitiful....
