My 2 year old daughter loves this school. She's become a better listener, has gained social and communication skills, and learns more every day she goes. The school is clean and well maintained, the staff is nice, and the cost is reasonable.

My child has been here for three years and we have been impressed by the dedication and passion of the staff. There is an exceedingly low turnover in staff which is indicative of the cohesiveness of the staff and the administration. They respond to parents, and always put kids first. This is NOT daycare. This is preschool. The teachers have extensive early childhood education backgrounds and it shows in their work. Several of the classrooms draw heavily upon the Reggio Emilia approach which has demonstrated success. An older friend recommended this school when we were looking as she had sent her two now grown children there and said it was the best part of their education experience. I took that with a pinch of salt, but now have to say that I would be ecstatic if the rest of my child's education experience was like this. The St.Mark's Presents Arts program is fabulous - There is a new gymnastics program that is amazing too. We hate to leave our St.Mark's family, but will be back with the younger child.

This school has some of the most unprofessional employees. Some of the teachers were rude and unprofessional in the hallways. There is no confidentiality with your child's learning; other parents are aware of other students private accommodations your child may have/need. The PE coach is constantly being unprofessional to the single mothers and at times even the married ones. They do not have the personnel to supervise children and are often asking parents to do so. However, even through out the school day, at times children are left alone. During the time my son attended this school his classroom was left unsupervised, luckily I was picking my son up early and stayed in the classroom until a teacher came. The teachers do not have the skill set required to teach, for 3 years of my son being enrolled there, I was constantly harassed to put my child on medication and they were diagnosing him. I took him to the doctor to test several times and all exams were negative and there was no need for him to be on medication. After 3 years of my son attending there, the principal stated that Santa Cruz lacks education services that children often need. They are also very discriminative towards families if you "do not fit in" or in other words gossip. It is far from the standard of a Catholic school. It is such a ridiculous school. My son now goes to a public school where he is doing amazing job. He has excelled and is happy to go to school every morning. Think twice about this school, for the well-being of your child's education.

Desert Christian is an wonderful school. My daughter began going there in Kindergarten and is now a Senior! It provides a strong academic foundation for kids with a staff that is loving and caring. It is a place of grace where God is a part of each and every day. My daughter's experience at Desert Christian will guide her for her whole life! There is a PS, K-8 campus as well as a High School campus. The Middle School laid the foundation for my daughter's love of mission work and serving others. I highly recommend anyone looking for an excellent Christian school to take a look at Desert Christian.

Since coming to Abbie our son has become successful in academics, drastically improved social behaviors and emotionally more stable and confident. The Abbie School truly teaches to the individual student and their specific needs. We found the Abbie School in December 2014 when our son was diagnosed with a learning processing disorder and Autism. He had always struggled in school with comprehension and ability to keep up learning new concepts. It was recommended to us that we visit the Abbie School to help him. He started in January 2015, and within 3 days we noticed he was much more confident and was making friends. By the end of his two weeks, he grasps concepts he'd never understood before such as long division. When we asked him why, he said "they to my brain better". My husband, son and I recommend the Abbie School to any student having trouble in school whether it be academically, socially, behaviorally or emotionally.

Bad place to go

This school is AMAZING. Great staff, teachers, and parent group. True haven for free thinking parents and children. Lots of fun activities throughout the year for the school community. I LOVE the teachers. Everyone is kind and understanding. I couldn't have imagined a better place to put my child.

This place is fantastic. The staff are courteous, professional, and genuinely caring. The grounds are beautiful - with nice gardens, abundant play areas, and covered activity areas. Great learning, great kids, excellent culture.
