I am always shocked that so many locals don't know about this hidden gem. Such a beautiful treat right in the middle of the park worth visiting anytime of year.
In summer walking down behind the waterfall in the cave is so nice with the spray cooling you off on a hot day. In winter the river flow is very high so the stunning power of the amount of water coming over the tall falls dropping below is an exciting site to see.
The trail to the fall is well maintained, it may be tricky for those with mobility issues but in general is family friendly.

Maple Bay Cultus Lake

Stopped here during a camping trip on one of the many Cultus Lake campgrounds, this park was very spacious and well covered by large trees. The park is easily accessible from Columbia Valley Road; which is a great winding road to drive along the lake. The bay itself is nice and parking is easy because of the 3 large lots; there are geese present in the area so be mindful of them as well when visiting. Overall a nice spot to relax!

Lo and Anne from Naturetrek Canada organised our trip to Alaska which consisted of us driving but encompassed Denali, Anchorage, Homer (bear watching) and Juneau. Inside passage with Alaskan State Ferries to Vancouver Island, sea kayaking, guided camp on Nootka island, Alert Bay (more bear watching). The travel guide they gave us was extensive, full of information, places to see, history, culture but we had the choice to either do it or not. Would highly recommend this business to anyone thinking of travelling to Canada, Alaska area.
