Automotive Repair

I contacted Colorado Engines for a price qoute for new remanufactured factory engine after a mechanic from a different shop had diagnosed a cracked head on my daughters vehicle. I spoke with George at Colorado Engines about some concerns that I had about remanufactured factory engines and the business of replacement engines. I looked at tons of reviews from different suppliers. Some good some not so good....and I must admit that I unfairly passed judgment on the good people of Colorado Engines. I assumed they were trying to take advantage of my daughters situation. I tried to make a deal off the price that George quoted me through email. George called me and we talked for good while.... He answered my questions, he seemed to gracefully forgive me for being an ignorant ass... (I am saying that about myself). George was very patient with me. After I hung up the phone, I continued to look at Jasper, Powertrain products, and Remann and a few more Remanufactured engine suppliers. I got a lot of emails from these places to buy from them. After a few day George had Terry from his shop call me and see if I had anymore questions. Terry asked me how I knew the engine had a cracked head and offered to do a diagnoses on the engine. I agreed..... thinking the entire time that I was going to have to help my daughter pay this bill. The appointment was made for a Tuesday Morning. My daughter dropped it off, and went to work. She was anxiously waiting for the bad news. They had the truck for most of the day, looked it over, took it for a good long spin and told my daughter that there was no need to change the engine. NOW... here's the best part! George knew that I had already planned on buying an engine to help my daughter out and I already said I'd be paying for it. That folks is good business in my book! He could have easily told us that we needed a new engine and it would have been easy money for them. Instead, he did the right thing I am forever grateful to George and Terry at Colorado Engines in Arvada. He has earned my daughters future business with her vehicle needs. Thank you and GOD bless you!

WONDERFUL AND ACCOMMODATING! THANK YOU RIZZO! SEE YOU AGAIN.

Have been more than Happy with the work that I have had them do. I don't like not doing work on my truck myself but at times I don't have a good place to work inside. Rob is Great and is very informative. Worked on my 12 valve and have had him look at my new 3500 and do a service on it. Always very fair with no BS

I did business with these guys over 10 year ago, back in 2007, but I figured I would share my experience with dealing with them. I found some old paperwork from them and was curious to see if they were still around... sure enough, they are. Back in 2007, I bought an old Toyota Cressida with a blown up engine for $500 for a fur project, and pulled the engine out and began looking for someone to rebuild it. After many phone calls to various shops and getting jerked around by all of them, Superior Engines gave me the best quote and sounded confident to take on the job. Once I brought the engine in and they pulled it apart to see what happened to it, the report was ugly. The #5 piston has suffered a detonation, and has been blown into pieces into the oil pan. Not only that, but it gouged up the cylinder walls, and the head was pretty chewed up too. It looked un-saveable. Well, these guys worked their magic, and once I put everything back together, the engine ran flawlessly for the next 6 years I had the car before I sold it. Just judging from the website, it looks like the same guys are still working there. It's been a long time, but the fact that they could save that motor was pretty impressive.

In every aspect of a car buying experience the gentlemen here were just that- gentlemen. I was searching for a subaru that would be reliable and within my budget being a young mother. Mike helped encourage me that the car I chose was without a doubt a good selection. After having not so great credit and not wanting to work with financing- they offered me a 60-day cash payment! Without a doubt this place is by far a trustworthy, reliable and satisfactory business. I feel confident in my choice of cars and will come to them for all vehicular needs in the future! They aren't looking to get over on anybody or be dishonest. Very straight up and personable.

Unfriendly and bad attitude. Beware

The only reason I’m not giving this place five stars is because it took them over three weeks to rebuild the engine in my truck. But they are a busy shop for a reason. They do good work here. Another nice thing about this place is you don’t have to worry about anything missing from the inside of your truck. There are those shops that have thieves working for them. This is not one of those places. I will take my truck back to this place in the future if I need engine work. I just won’t be in a hurry.

Glad to have business with !!

The only place I'll go for diesel emissions test! Best price and service!

Awesome and affordable mechanics. Highly recommend.

Was a customer for 15 years, run do not walk away from this place now. They keep your credit card and then run it 3 weeks after the work is done. Had to take my truck else where and they showed me work I had done 10 years ago was never completed. Not a place get any work done, other than an emission, still the cheapest, just to get you to come in. Not worth the problems.

Friendly owners, I feel they are honest and fairly priced.

Great and trustworthy guys here! I enjoy walking into an auto shop as a woman and not being made to feel like an idiot! The guys may joke around but they work hard and are obviously passionate about what they do!

VERY Poor front office management waited over an hour for paperwork to be completed. Office staff don't seem to work together very well. Terry Hann the gentelman working on my paperwork kept getting distracted and answering phones while I waited for him to complete my paperwork.
