Warning! Last May, his guy asked for $14,000 cash to fix a 1998 Cobra engine in exchange for a receipt to do the work. $5000 was given as a startup payment. Every month, he had another excuse for not doing any work on it. After 8 months, he had done nothing. He asked for more money. He was charging us $120 per month to "store" the car while he waited for parts. We couldn't wait any longer. He hadn't even pulled the engine and he never even ordered parts! He told us all the amazing things he was doing to the car. Couldn't wait to get it back! Rented and borrowed cars in the meantime. But after 8 months of bull, we asked for the money back.
His answer? "I spent the cash, man." He spent the entire $14,000! He flat out said he spent it all on himself! He said he was having a "rough month". We all have rough months. But honest people don't use their customer deposits as a personal piggy bank. This was a week before Christmas. He wouldn't tell me when he would get it back for me. Wouldn't answer calls. Made no effort to pay it back for weeks. Made it seem like he was doing me a favor refunding my money. Wanted to give him a chance, but he showed no remorse. In the meantime, I have no car and no cash to put down on one. Over a month later, he says he has the money. But all he returned was $8989!! Where did the other $5000 go?
According to Mr. Cuschieri, he had to charge me $190 (raised from $120) a month to park the car in his lot while he spent my money on himself! Not to mention he said he spent 30 hours "researching" my project. I got on google and found the answer in five minutes. He took $3000 off the top for basically a day of labor dropping my transmission! He "swore" he spent the other $2000 on an exhaust system for the car which has never been delivered! He says its coming but who knows. He said he ordered it in December and its now mid February. What kind of business owner does this to a customer? Enough is enough.
Hope whatever he spent my cash on was worth it.
We can't make this up. We thought he was honest. We gave the guy every chance to do the right thing...but the truth is, the guy ripped us off and spent all the money he received on himself by his own admission. Really dishonest business. Needs be to shut down. What a scam. By the way we took the vehicle to another shop after all this and they quoted me a quarter of what Bobby was charging. They also did not ask me for a huge BS deposit either. Also the engine is finished now and in only 30 days. Bobby told me it would take "6 months or longer". Guess he wanted to add to my storage fee to pocket some more money. Treated me like a dope. Don't trust Bobby Cuschieri with your money or your vehicle.

Got a flat in a rental. The people here did not have the tire I needed in stock, but went out of their way to help me find a solution, calling the rental company, then helping me find someone with the tire in stack that the rental company partnered with. Would totally recommend them going forward.

notch"
Always fair and truthful, Cowden has taken care of my '88 Mazda pickup for over 20 years. They are not the cheapest but are the most reasonable and give a full backing to their work. My truck still running well after 110k speaks volumes.
