Ron Jay originally began his career in hair in 1978
apprenticing under John Paul Drago of Doris Paul Salon,Toronto. He then went on to study advanced design, and began competing in intramural competitions winning his first awards. After completing his licensing he worked for Glemby International where he had the opportunity to train with Kevin Furlong, (Senior design/stylist for their international competitive design team) at their Holt-Renfrew location, Toronto. This had the greatest impact on his style, design, speed and agility. After 1986 He worked for many finer salons within the G.T.A. as a freelance stylist until moving to Grey-Bruce area in 2010.
