We hired IPG to do a ground solar installation. Quote came in at around 15k. We gave the initial 50% deposit to get started. Weeks went by with no work being completed, called numerous times to get them out to get started. They would come and do a bit here and a bit there. I asked if we could pay the remaining balance to speed thing up and we agreed on paying the rest to get things completed. They did get the pole in the ground and panels installed and that was about it before we had to terminate them due to length of time this took and the constant communication on our end to get them back. We have agreed upon reimbursement of 8k to make this right since they didn’t complete the work and have yet to get reimbursed. This guy will take you for your money as he has done this to others. Do yourself some research to see all of the court cases against him before signing on the dotted line.

Craig made many promises and claims about solar. He then asked me to help with the power company applications. He has made many promises and has not completed anything on time. He expects money upfront, but doesn't complete on time. I have been waiting and have gotten no progress on my installation. I originally suggested him to quote other family members, but they are in the same position. He is not completing these. He even asked me to forge his signature on an application for a different customer. I would stay away from him altogether. I have asked for a refund and he said it wasn't possible. Document everything with Craig, if you choose to work with him. He obviously does not honor what he says and makes great claims of value. I have yet to see him make a date, keep a promise, or provide evidence of even submitting required permit applications.

My wife and I decided to install solar energy on our home after realizing the tax benefits that were available, and wanting to reduce our carbon footprint while saving money. After meeting with Craig from Independent Power Grid we were sold. IPG was able to design our system simply by sending a copy of our latest electricity bill. After IPG designed our system, they explained the process for installation and were able to provide us with the amount of rebates we would be entitled to. IPG even filled out the rebate forms and reserved our rebate before the system was installed. Installation was just as painless. IPG contacted our electrical service and coordinated their inspection for our grid-tied system the day of installation, that meant we were selling back our extra electricity immediately. The installation was done quickly and looks great on our home. The best part was was watching our system produce electricity with the ENPHASE app on our phones. We are addicted to seeing how much electricity we are producing on sunny days and even on a cloudy day like today I am still producing 10 KW of electricity to offset our energy bills. After installation it was two weeks before our first bill so we didn’t expect much, but our bill was cut in over 1/2! The biggest difference was to see what we sold back to the electric company that decreased the monthly standard charge just for having electricity at our home. We also noticed that our 3% charge for paying for those who need energy assistance decreased to pennies. I never paid so much attention to my bill until I saw the difference in just two weeks. Since we have had the system, our monthly bill is mostly gas service and never been more that $50, which is only a fraction of my pre-solar bills. We received the rebate check 3 weeks after IPG submitted the final paperwork, which was quick (I believe due to the reservations made by IPG). I am looking forward to using my tax incentives for further benefits this year and the next if I don’t use it all in 2018! The system is completely hands free! Through the APP I can see each individual panel, so if there ever is a problem, it can be isolated and fixed quickly and efficiently. We are so happy with this system that we have taken advantage of Focus on Energy free LED lights and are going to install these lights throughout our home to decrease our use and increase our sale back to the grid. We are also looking into adding a power wall battery system so our house will be powered while the grid is down or the sun is down...why not...the sun is free! I am the talk of the neighborhood and have fun showing this system off. I recommend IPG for your system, they are very reasonable in the solar market for pricing, they handle design and forms and offered to help me with a DIY solar, but I chose to have them install. It’s a 25 year system, I expect to have all my money repaid in 7-10yrs while feeling the relief right away. Oh by the way my home value increased 3% but property taxes couldn’t be raised due to the value because Federal Laws regulate solar to the advantage of the Solar Owner...Plus it’s now on my roof so insurance covers any damage under my homeowner policy. There was just no bad news! Thanks Craig and IPG for enlightening us!
