BIGGEST WASTE OF TIME IN MY ENTIRE LIFE! I went to Dr. Patty's Dental office today after seeing amazing reviews on google and facebook about the quality of work, professionalism, and timely manner of their services. When I called the office, I was told that as a new patient, my appointment would take approximately two hours but no more than that. I asked also if my appointment could be with Dr. Patty and I was told that there was no way for them to guarantee that but she would be there at the time of my appointment and it may be with her or with another dentist. I informed the staff that I was in a time crunch, and two hours would be okay but I needed to be out of their office no later than 5:30-5:45pm. I asked if I could come in early to fill out forms and they stated that was fine and to please arrive promptly at 3:45 which would guarantee I would leave the office on time. I arrived at Dr. Patty's office at 3:40 pm. I was asked if I would like a warm blanket or a complimentary beverage and greeted politely. I was then given a tour of the facilities and shown a room where I could fill out the forms while they verified my insurance. I also re-stated that I wanted to know any charges prior to receiving services as this was my first time in a dental office in Florida. I was assured that this process would take no more than 15 minutes. I was still waiting in that room by myself around 4:20pm when I complained that I had been waiting for an extremely long time and I now was limited with the remaining time I had left for the dental work to be performed. With my complaints (and I was the only person waiting at the time) I was finally shown to a room by a dental hygienist named Sam. She was also warm and hospitable and joked that we shared the same birthday. She informed me that the doctor was currently busy but she would start taking my measurements but she was unable to perform any work or do any cleaning prior to the doctor examining me. She made a few recommendations about flossing etc and stated that the doctor was in an "emergency" and would be in shortly. Five minutes passed. Then ten.. she came back and stated the doctor would be in the room for the exam in approximately 5 minutes... its now 4:50pm and I now only have 55 minutes max left. Sam stated that it would take her 45 minutes to do the cleaning and the doctor 15 minutes to do the exam. I am not the best at math but by my calculation thats an hour... I figure the time difference of 5 minutes wouldn't be that big of a deal - if the doctor actually showed up in five minutes. I was then left in the room by myself again.. clock keeps ticking. It is now 5:02 pm and there is no doctor and also no Sam. I leave the room and go up front and ask to speak to a manager. They again - tell me to please wait. I say that I am a little frustrated since all I have been doing for nearly the past hour and a half is been waiting..as NOTHING has been done. I have wasted an hour and a half of my life for... nothing. The insurance lady was trying to accommodate me and went and spoke to the doctor who was in this "so called emergency surgery". He stated he would be out in a few minutes. Call me crazy, but last time I checked "emergency surgeries" were performed by oral surgeons... not dentists... and actual, true, life-threatening emergencies - most people go to the hospital - which is where I work - so I see emergencies every day. This "few minutes" was more than 20 more minutes of me waiting. At this time, the doctor had still not come out from the room to examine me. Time is now 5:35 PM.. the insurance lady was still telling me that I could be "accommodated" that day by the same doctor who has continuously given misinformation. I was given misinformation by the staff from start to finish. THANKS FOR WASTING 2 HOURS OF MY LIFE - WOULDN'T RECOMMEND THIS OFFICE IF THEY WERE THE LAST DENTAL PRACTICE IN SOUTH FLORIDA!
