I was in need of hair colouring/tone after the previous colour faded. I booked a balayage + tone with Sabrina. From walking in I was greeted by front staff and then Sabrina walked me to consult about my hair history and inspiration photos. She was such a wonderful person through the whole process and made sure I was comfortable and knew exactly what to expect. Sabrina was able to apply her expertise and recommendations on which hair levels worked best, and the outcome exceeded my expectations! Now it has faded a bit but still looks natural. I will definitely be back in future! Thank you again :)

I called to make a last minute appointment for a hair fantasy I've had since I was a teenager (and was butchered by a rude Hairstylist from Trade Secrets). Since this place and other locations had high ratings and positive reviews, I decided to give them a try. When I called, Rhonda answered and she was very helpful. She tried to make sure there was enough time for the artist to get the job done properly without feeling rushed to work with their next client. Once that appointment was made, she told me to e-mail the team what my vision for color was and what my current hair looks like. After I sent the e-mail she gave me a call to let me know that I would be able to come in the following day as the color was available (they were going to special order it for me for the original appointment time I was supposed to have it by). Consequently, I was able to get my hair done earlier (which was what I wanted anyway), and the color matched what I wanted (a deep blue/indigo, NOT a light blue, green-blue, teal, cerulean, etc.). When I arrived at the salon, I was greeted by a very friendly Vanessa. She was the artist who worked on my hair. She double checked with me to make sure whatever was in the e-mail was what I wanted. She also suggested that I get a balayage and not highlights because the overall effect would look different. She made sure I was okay with that by telling me that there was a price difference, before proceeding. Not only was she very personable and welcoming, she also ensured that in every step of the process (bleaching, coloring, washing, cutting, drying, styling), that it was done properly. For example, for the bleaching, since my hair was virgin hair (never colored before), it took a while to absorb the bleach and she kept checking to make sure the hair had absorbed enough before moving on to the next step. She also made sure to put as much colour to make sure enough cooler was deposited into my hair. I am extremely satisfied with the outcome of my hair as it exceeds my expectations. Vanessa did an excellent job! I also want to give a shout out to Nita who also spent some time with my hair alongside Vanessa, and who was also very friendly and welcoming. Last but not least, the playlist at the salon was bopping LOL.

I went here to treat myself for my birthday with doing something cool with my hair. I decided to shave back of my head with some cool fades and found some examples photos to show them. The result was unbelievable and looked like mens’ haircut instead and did not look anything like I asked for! They charged me 55 plus tax! This should have been a neck trim which usually costs only $25 in even much cleaner hair salons.

I have long dark black hair and wanted to color it for the first time. Frank, my stylist carefully listened to my requirements and gave me a few suggestions as well. He nailed the hair color and my requirements! Extremely happy with the outcome. Nita blow dried and styled my hair and she is a sweetheart! Everyone was really friendly and I will surely be going back.

I have been to DBK twice, Candy is extremely precision! I have very straight shoulder length hair and she cut my hair amazingly! I actually live in Ottawa and have not found anyone who has been able to cut like her, pure talent an artist! I am a former stylist and this salon is very clean and I enjoyed watching the skilled staff l highly recommend you go here, you won’t be disappointed! Prices are fair here as well, after all we wear our hair everyday!
