Good lord this review is well overdue! I cannot express the game-changer Jean Barton has been for my hair! You can't put a price on feeling good about yourself when you look in the mirror. After years of feeling defeated and deflated by my flat, fine hair, Jean has revolutionized my look and gave me the hair I've always dreamed up. It takes me less time to get ready each day and I don't just resort to a ponytail anymore. I'm so grateful to Jean for the self-esteem boost!

Is there a way to give 100 stars?! Moving from New York, I've been to Frederic Fekkai's salon among other top salons in NYC and Long Island. COLOR: I've been seeing Tina Spears for my color for over two years, and she is an INCREDIBLE COLORIST! She works with you to give you what you want with IMPECCABLE results. She has done blonde highlights on me, and I recently changed to a show stopping red - that frequently gets me stopped in the streets. HER REDS LAST!!! I've gone bright red before and the color washes out in a few weeks. I literally had to go back because my roots were so bad - but the red was still as vibrant as the the day i first walked out of the salon because of the techniques and process she uses. CUT: Jean Barton! She has magical hands as well! After getting a mediocre cut somewhere else... and waiting WAY TOO LONG to get it cut... I found Jean. I felt like a new person after she was done cutting my hair. My hair finally had style, shape and body all while keeping my request to keep the overall length of my hair long. The cut is with standing the test of test of time, not loosing it's shape or falling flat. If anything I'm loving it more and more each day! I truly believe I have found the best colorist and the best stylist in Austin - and dare I say elsewhere! Asides from their incredible talent - their personalities are so much fun! The rest of the staff at Waterstone is extremely welcoming and friendly as well. I can't recommend this salon, and two incredible people enough!

Kristin Yarmer is just fantastic. She has that magic skill of listening to everything I want, and then taking that idea and making it even better than I could have imagined. She's total pro and it's so great to have someone so fun to talk to who i trust completely with my cut and color. Highly recommend!

Jean Barton is the QUEEN of all things hair. I first met her for a wedding updo for my BFF's wedding, and her funky/classy style was what I needed to avoid the typical wedding updo. I went back for balayage because I'm so tired of sitting for hours with foils every 8-10 weeks like an early 2000s fake blonde. She has created very natural and bright colors that allow a 3-4 month grow out period (once I went 6 months!), with gorgeous hair up until the very end. Jean can also work some serious magic with her scissors. She most recently saved me from a genuinely boring medium length cut, where I cheated on her for convenience sake. The layers and movement she can create is unmatched. She also happens to be a pretty awesome person who I can either talk energy healing with or sit and read on my iPad without offending.

Tina Spears at WaterStone Salon is THE BEST colorist in Austin! In fact, I’ve been highlighting my hair for the past 25 years and would go as far as to say I have never had a colorist as good as she is. Ever. I started seeing Tina when my last hair stylist fried my hair when attempting balayage. Tina looked at my hair and knew exactly what to do to achieve the sun-kissed, natural look that Ive been wanting for many years yet couldn’t find a colorist who could achieve that without destroying my hair in the process. Side note...but equally important to me...Tina is a lovely human being and is simply beautiful inside and out. Trust me. Check her out if you get your hair colored. You won’t regret it.
