Have only tried the dessert sampler and a single roll of sushi. That said, the service was great and we were well taken care of. Presentation was great and the taste was exactly as it looked - above average. Was hesitant given that it was attached to such a rundown mall but it's a shining light in the area. Would return based on service alone.

Food was delicious and service was good. We were seated at a table that was extremely private and had our own personal staircase leading to our table. Server was unable to see us but we had a silent service bell embedded. Their foie gras sushi seemed very jelly-like in the middle.

been here multiple times, If you are looking for fast service, with a quick bite this place is not the place. But if you are here to sit and enjoy your dessert, this is the right place to be. This place is probably most known for their Kyoto Gion Box. It is a box filled with variety of different Japanese desert which looks super appealing. Kyoto Gion Box - 1) Raindrop Cake - Looks appealing, but tasted of brown sugar and crush peanut jello 2) Matcha brule - rich and creamy, smooth texture and melts in your mouth (best I ever had) 3) Hojicha Fruit Jelly - pretty much cut up raindrop cake with bits of berry and match 4) Mango mocha ice cream - unique texture of sweet cold mango ice cream with a chewy skin, very unique and is a must try 5) mini Doriyaki - imagine pancake and red bean paste, not much to say here, too small for me to tell whether or not its fluffy 6) strawberry mochi - pounded rice into mochi wrapped with strawberry and red bean paste (i prefer the mango mochi, as strawberry wasn't too fresh) 7) dango with matcha and red bean - mochi infused with matcha, mango and strawberry served with red bean and matcha 8) Tofu pudding - full of the soy taste in the tofu with a little bit of caramel.

Last night, I came home from Christmas shopping...and trying out the best Japanese restaurant I've ever been to. Oh, I do still love Maguro, Ladner Sushi and Eko-Ya...but Toku in Lansdowne takes the cake! The atmosphere is breathtaking, the waiters are very helpful, the tables have buzzers on them, the lighting fixtures are fancy, and even the desserts are delivered in such a clever way. It's a rather expensive one, so I might want to budget $50 when you go, especially if you're treating a friend. It's clear from all the low reviews that those people haven't prepared themselves financially. Trust me, though, the price will be worth it. It's true authentic Japanese stuff like I tried on my vacation there. I can't wait to get back there one of these days/nights.

Great food, reasonable prices, and kid friendly.
