On my first visit to New Orleans in the winter of 2000, a waitress spilled my whole food order on me. I had a white coat that was ruined. The best they could do was to offer a reimbursement for having my coat cleaned. At that lunch, the waitress stood over my husband while he wrote the tip, and he unfortunately gave her a full tip. I was so mad I wrote a letter to them complaining about the above experience. They never responded. When my husband and I moved to the New Orleans area, I wrote another letter to them, asking for a "meal on the house" for the meal on my coat. They never responded to this either. Since 2001, I've recommended against this restaurant to everyone I know.

I was very disappointed in this establishment. We seldom go to fine dining places but wanted to do something special for our last night on vacation. We felt unwelcome from the start. We were not happy with our drinks. We were brought bread with no bread plate. So crumbs were all over the table and we had to sweep them off with our hands which got onto our clothes. We enjoy Stella artois beer which is always served in a fancy chalice even at a bowling alley. It was in a plain ordinary glass. Our appetizer was mundane at best. When we complained about our experience so far we were given an apathetic attitude. We are not pretentious people and rarely complain about places but we know this was going to be a very pricey and poor meal.

Not very impressed with the service. We had a reserved booked. Serving of ordered food was terribly slow. Getting an attention of bartenders was also painful. They almost look like they enjoy ignoring. The restaurant experience right beside the bar was much much better experience.

Very well met expectations. The food was delicious and service was prompt, courteous, and accomodating. Loved the look and feel of the place (southern colonial).

I DID NOT have a great experience at Galatoire's Restaurant. I reserved seating hours before time and as I arrived I was told I would have to wait. When I confronted the host after seeing her seat three other parties before mine (they slipped her cash) she repeatedly lied not knowing I saw her take the cash (pure lack of integrity). When I asked to speak to the manager, he as well, with lack of integrity, instead of hearing what I had to say, dismissed the issue all together. A few moments, if I'm not mistaken the owner asked myself and guests to leave because he felt what our issue was, was not important due to their fully seated restaurant. I must implement that I am a Latin/Black man. I can tell that the one's in charge (non black) had no regard for what I had to say. Out of my 34 years of dining all over the world, in exquisite establishments, etc I have not, ever experienced such a experience as I did at this restaurant. In New Orleans???!!!! One thing I do know about life though, things change, sooner and later. My experiences matter, so from here I'll leave up to life to handle the duty...P.U.S.H
