Tucked away, we only noticed the sign because it has my wife’s name...Irene. This being our first night in New Orleans, we had wandered around looking for somewhere to eat, so seeing the name we knew it had to be a sign! We stood outside, listening to the nice music wafting out and beckoning us in. Without a reservation we expected to wait, but they found us somewhere immediately. We arrived at seven but within an hour the place was rammed full. The menu looked good and it was hard to choose what to eat. Coming from London we didn’t find the prices unreasonable, especially as the food was superb. Top marks. The wine list was comprehensive and reasonable too. Our waitress was attentive and friendly. Irene’s has a welcoming atmosphere and all the busy waiters had a smile or nod of recognition for us. Being picky, the air con was a tad too strong where we were sitting, especially if sitting underneath, but aside from that, the place is great. Thoroughly recommended.

What an absolute gem. Lovely Italian/creole neighborhood restaurant in the French Quarter. We happened to make it for their grand re-opening after a move. It was slow to get a table, but it was their first night in a new space which was understandable. Beautifully unpretentious food - if I lived closer I’d be a regular.

Irene's was amazing. Our waitress was adorable she was so friendly. When they heard it was our 3rd Anniversary they bought us over 2 glasses of champagne and dessert. The food was delicious, I had Oyster Irene, I loved it. I had to come to New Orleans to find a restuarant named after me. Thanks John and Irene Mancini

Can't say enough about this place. You will be greeted by tons of people walking in the door. We tried to walk in on a week night and it was packed with a 1.5-hour wait. We went back the next night and they remembered us and actually thanked us for coming back! We had chicken and lamb dishes, which were delightful and we each had a glass of red wine. Our server was great and efficient. Highly recommend!

The new location is gorgeous but is the same quaint dining experience! The service is out of this world. The food is SPECTACULAR! I’ve never had something that wasn’t cooked to perfection. HIGHLY recommended if you’re in New Orleans.
