Dining at Sobou was a really nice experience. The look of the place is really modern with some cool artsy features and ambient lighting. Our server was great and I can't fault the customer service at all. The food was really nice, I had the crispy Quail and my wife had the steak. Both dishes were really flavoursome. I'd suggest to anyone visiting NOLA to try this place.

Three star is probably a bit harsh on the chef, as the food was really quite good. Service did take a bit of time. Had a very friendly waitress but had to ask for water. she also made the bizarre comment that the wine list was indicative and she had no idea what was in the cellar. I don't think it's her fault I think it's the fault of management here. Also arrived 15 minutes before my reservation and despite there being plenty of empty tables, including the one they eventually sat us at we were told our reservation was at 8 PM but we could wait in the bar. We took a stroll around the block instead. Pretentious without needing to be I think. Again, put full blame on the management: if you're going to charge these type of prices you should train your staff up properly.

The food at SoBou is SOOOO good. Maybe the best food I've ever had. I ordered a pulled pork on mash and it was delicious. We also ordered a Crabbed stuffed fish and it was gluten free and was, "the best thing I've ever eaten". My only issue with this restaurant is that the wait time was very long. It took about an hour to get our food after we ordered and then about 45 minutes for desert. We ordered a mixed drink 3 times and it never came. I'm sure the waitstaff is busy but for the price you're paying, you kind of want your food to come out quicker and to get the drink you ordered...

The food was good. Service was okay but I thought it was pretty expensive based on the amount of food you get. Also, being a tourist I prefer a traditional looking NOLA restaurant. This restaurant was pretty swanky- maybe better for locals?

My husband is right at home with the Chicago Blues! Our waitress is super friendly and the atmosphere is lovely. Can't wait to come back 👯👯
