Extremely overpriced; food mediocre at best. The Jaegerschnitzel sauce tasted like canned mushroom soup and contained very few actual mushrooms. I also ordered a side of red cabbage and it was overcooked, soggy, and over-seasoned. To be fair my husband's traditional schnitzel was a bit better. All in all, at over $20 per entree we expected better quality and presentation. I feel a fair value for would be something more like $10-12/entree as I honestly could not differentiate the meals from those of a cheap diner. We will not be returning.

AMAZING! We found this area and this restaurant by accident. The authentic German/Austrian food blew us away. Good portion sizes. Attentive service. Make a reservation or sit at the bar, if you can find space. We loved the upscale atmosphere and food from our childhoods. We saved this in our phones with hopes of visiting again the next time we visit the KC area. This place is a must on your KC food bucketlist.

The A La Grunauer seems to have fallen off the rails recently. Had no flavor at all, which is odd as even the creamed spinach inside was bland. If you want value, just go next door for BBQ that still has an upscale feel. Double the food too. Pretty upset we wasted our money here. No issues with staff but it would’ve been nice to get an actual table as there were some available the whole time we were there. Have been here about 5 times but it’s not worth it anymore.

Best meal we've had in KC. Certainly, its a bit pricey, but if you've got about a hundred to spend on dinner and drinks for 3 or 4 people, its the best food we know of. Server was pleasant and prompt. Beer selection is appropriate.
