I was sitting at one of Table FIVE 08's 5 empty tables outside thinking about eating there for dinner later. I had been there for less than 5 minutes and was about 3 minutes away from leaving when the manager came outside and told me that the seating area was for customers only and I had to leave. I went inside to speak with the manager about the unnecessary treatment of a potential customer. Unfortunately, I was never able to fully articulate my issue with the way the situation was handled because the manager and another employee chose to berate me for having the audacity to question their policy. In my 29 years, have never endured such caustic verbal abuse from a food-service professional, let alone a raging duo. In a matter of minutes Table FIVE 08 went from being a new spot I was thinking of frequenting (assuming the food and service was as good as the interior ambiance) to a restaurant I will avoid forever. I am a successful freelance web developer, and I often treat potential and current clients to lunch and dinner. The point of the meal is to make an impression, so I treat my wait-staff well. Guess I'll just have to spend my money elsewhere. So long, Table FIVE 08.

Had a great evening and Table FIVE 08 did a wonderful job of hosting our wedding reception. The family all enjoyed their meal and the waiter was quick and attentive. We brought along cake and champagne and they were happy to serve it for us. Pictured here is the "Shot in a Beer" drink from the menu. I was expecting it might just come in a normal cocktail glass, but this was fun too.

They were out of several dishes. Also they do not have a changing table in either restroom. I had a perfect stranger hold my baby so I could change her diaper. The food was good though.

The salad I had was simple but good. The ambiance was delightful. The major downside was that the server forgot that my friend had ordered tea and the food took a while to come to the table (how hard can a raw salad be?) considering that the place wasn't bustling with customers. They also didn't mark which items were gluten free on their menu even though they had options available. I would give it one more try to see if service is better since it's such an enjoyable environment to eat lunch in.

This lovely establishment was in a very nice setting in downtown Salem. I will say that Jake our wonderful server made this a 5 star review. Such considerate and genuine conversations, it really can make any dinner experience with good service a 5 star night! Recommend the burger and Rosemary Seasalt fries! Shout out to the Spanish Coffee as well!
