Walked in and almost every one is wearing a suit or button down shirts. No surprise being downtown and next to the capital building. The fact they do not have a kids'menu also gave me pause; however, one of the waiters convinced me the kids would love the grilled cheese (parking at a meter and time restraints also played a factor). We were not disappointed. We had excellent service, treated no less than the suits. I will say my kids did not care for the grilled cheese as much as my tacos (beef braised in red wine sauce). I think the grilled cheese was too rich for them, but I was happy to share. Both were excellent. My son also liked the wife's hamburger. I highly recommend the the restaurant. The prices were excellent for the quality of the food and service.

Great food and decent selection of menu items. Dishes are a bit on the pricey side, but given the fresh ingredients, combination of flavors and presentation it’s worth the price. There are basic, yet very flavorful dishes and elaborate flavorful dishes, take your pick as they are all delicious! This is a great place to have a good drink, good food and be in a upscale atmosphere.

A must see place. Foods are not only presented with excellent quality, the flavors blend well into an explosion of excitement. The foods tasted like we were floating on heaven. Compliments to the chef for designing a perfect blend of flavors. I recommend not leaving without dessert to transcend to a new level of inner peace. The atmosphere is rustic and romantic. A perfect place to go on a date, group of friends, or a double date. The experience here could make for a beautiful book of flavors and memories. Truly worthy of getting some Michelin Stars.

My fiancé and I went around 9 o’clock last night for my birthday and it was amazing! The atmosphere made me feel like I was in an upscale restaurant in New York City, not Columbia, South Carolina. Very modern rustic hipster vibe. The food was absolutely delicious, to the point where by dessert, I was convinced there wasn’t anything I could choose that I wouldn’t like. Cameron, our server was awesome! He had full knowledge of everything on the menu and how everything was prepared. He was attentive and friendly but not overbearing like some waiters can be. He made our night special. Highly recommend The Oak Table.

My girlfriend and I celebrated our anniversary at the Oak Table and what a wonderful experience it was! The atmosphere was refined yet relaxed and hospitable. Our server and host were friendly, knowledgeable and just great at what they do. They were very keen on ensuring that we had a pleasant evening. The menu had an array of enticing dishes to offer. All of our courses were absolutely delicious and well presented- not too many frills with a large focus on quality, sustainability and taste. This was one of the best dining experiences we have had in recent memory.
