Such a disappointing dining experience. I have wanted to visit The Spudder for a few years and my wife and I finally had an evening alone, so we dropped in on a busy Saturday. The restaurant was packed, but we were seated quickly. That's the best thing I can say about the experience. We each ordered a bone-in ribeye, medium rare with great anticipation. After we had progressed through the rest of the meal the steaks and potatoes arrived with some delay. We cut into the steaks and mine was prepared medium well and my wife's somewhere between medium and medium well. It happens from time-to-time. No problem. We alerted our waitress and she took the steaks back to the kitchen and they prepared two new steaks. The second steaks were brought to our table by a man who didn't introduce himself or apologize for the inconvenience. He left and we cut into our steaks, hers RARE and mine well done. We once again alerted our waitress and she asked if we'd like to have them remade again, to which I replied "No. Just get us out of here". She said that she'd send a manager over and went away. The manager didn't come by but our waitress returned with our bill for the soups, salads, and soft drinks. We paid and left still hungry.

The steak was good, but the service was too bad to enjoy anything. 10 minutes to take drink orders, 5 minutes later we got menus after asking for them, 5 minutes more for drinks. I finally requested another waitress to hopefully salvage the night since other people seated at the same time with different waitstaff were already eating. For a $50 steak, I expect a little more than a good cut of meat, I expect some good service too.

My parents come up to visit from Houston and this is my dad's favorite restaurant. It never disappoints, great service, amazing food. My boys love it as well, they love all the old signs and decor.

Great steak.. atmosphere is very unique. I have been eating here since the mid 80's the new owners are doing a Great job. Customer care is top priority. Will be back again.

We come with certain frequency to Spudder’s, and love it every time. The ambiance is super interesting. But it is the food that makes it standout above many other restaurants. So if you want excellent food and interesting digs, then you need to come here.
