I ate the banana French toast, and it was DELICIOUS!!! I would definitely return here. I want to try more dishes. I promise you will not be disappointed here. Sure it takes a 20 minute wait, but it's well worth it. It can be quite crowded but the service is great and the food is very delicious.

Echoing other reviewers, come here and you'll be served impressive Southern cuisine. Several recommendations prompted us to seek out Screen Door, and we weren't displeased with the results. The chicken & waffle was most excellent, although I did think the salt was a bit overdone and unnecessary. The mac 'n cheese was tasty, satisfying, with deep flavors. A thin layer of crispy cheese on top was delightful. After chatting with the bartender I got a Caesar (a Canadian variant of a Bloody Mary, with clam juice). It was beyond excellent! Cheerful and attentive servers, pleasant vibe, and reasonably good prices. I'm looking forward to a return visit!

Ridiculously delicious. Nice to see a southern restaurant of this quality here in PDX. Also nice that they’ve got substitutes for all dietary needs. Our group got the sample platter, shrimp and grits, and pecan-encrusted fish. No one ‘wanted to share’. The food is remarkably light feeling...until you eat too much...because you’ll order too much. The portions are pretty sizable, I took half my platter home. But one of the best parts is their super sweet pecan pie with ice cream. We got three separate orders because ‘MINE!’. Mid-range expense, very polite and attentive service, unsure about wait times since we did dinner on a Tuesday. I’ve seen people lined up before. Indoor and outdoor seating. Definitely worth the stop and the hunt for parking.

The hype and line are definitely in tandem with one another, but unsure if the actual performance holds to the high praise. The service was incredible, and food was remarkably average. The fried chicken and waffles were both enjoyable entities, but definitely didn't knock my socks off in any manner. The hush puppies left a lot to be desired in the realm of flavor components. I definitely enjoyed the lively atmosphere, but won't be rushing back.

Amazing, must go in Portland. I definitely plan on coming back for my next visit. Food: 5 stars. The biscuit chicken sandwich, fried oysters poboy, and black berry lemonade was delicious. Not to forget, the cheese grits that come with them. The sausage gravy on the chicken was perfect, not too salty and great proportion. There is a lot of food, so if not too hungry, I suggest sharing. We went on Saturday around 1030, and it was a 30 minute wait so not too bad! Service: regular, nothing special but were nice.
