Be super explicit if you have an allergy and even then, I would double check the meal if you've ordered takeout when you pick it up at the restaurant. I asked if the item was gluten-free and was told "everything is gluten free" by the guy on the phone. The meal was covered in bread and when I called to figure out what had happened, the guy argued with me that I didn't "confirm" the requirement for gluten free despite asking and ensuring the meal was so when I ordered. Maybe a good experience if you don't have to worry about what you eat, but I wouldn't trust these folks with handling allergies or sensitivities safely.

Great Ethiopian food with friendly service. I visit this restaurant whenever I take a trip to Toronto and the owner always remembers me. He really treats his customers like family and always seems really happy to help. The serving sizes are generous and the plating is beautiful. The food is also amazing. What are you waiting for? Just stop in and see for yourself!

I've never done a review before, but when something is this good, I had to do it. I went to grab some takeout after a long day, while I ordered my food I was telling the owner how hungry I was and excited for the food, 5 minutes later he came out with a sample plate for me to snack on while I waited for my order. Absolutely amazing! Such a nice thing to do. The food was absolutely delicious, and huge portions for a great price. Fantastic restaurant run by great people!

My boyfriend and I had an unforgettable dining experience at Ethiopiques back in December 2017. We shared the vegan dinner for 2 and it was EXTREMELY flavourful. It was super fun being able to eat with our hands too. The coffee was DELICIOUS and is highly recommended! The owners sat with us and roasted the coffee beans at our table, as we were one of last remaining tables at the restaurant that evening. The coffee ceremony was very cool to take part of and we loved getting to know the owners. We are always looking for unique cultural experiences and this definitely was!

Couldn't understand the hype.. Food was just ok.. Meat was not well done and all dishes almost tasted the same. Have had much better Ethiopian food and had high expectations from this place.
