Nanaimo Airport

Great little airport, but when I dropped off my mother in law last month, the parking attendant outside was screaming (not a raised voice, but screaming, “YOU GO INSIDE AND TELL THEM THAT YOU PARKED IN A CROSSWALK AND GET A TICKET”) at a woman for pausing (not parking) in a crosswalk while looking for parking along the stretch of meters by the door. There were no pedestrians in sight. When she said she didn’t park there and asked him what his problem was, he continued screaming at her and followed her inside the building! Right before this, he yelled at me for waiting (with my signal on) for a woman to leave her metered spot. Makes me very nervous to go back.

Great airport for people flying from Cowichan Valley as it avoids Malahat and longer drive to Victoria (from Duncan) Parking is easy and whilst not cheap is less than cost in Victoria. If you use the Air Shuttle it works out cheaper if away for more than ten days or so especially if a friend can drive you one way. Increasing frequency of direct flights to Calgary is helpful, however flights to the US through Seattle or San Francisco are better done from Victoria, avoiding having to connect( more expensively) through Vancouver. Friendly staff and seldom too crowded. Nice but small snack bar and small shop , though this seems to close fairly early.

My family and I have flown in and out multiple times. One of the best airports ever. Very quick with airline checkins and going through security screening. But I am also the kind of person that shows up on time. Great snack machine in boarding lounge. All the staff including the airlines, cafe, Catsa and car rental companies are great especially the Blue navigators that volunteer their time each day. You guys and gals do a great job. Looking forward to the expansion.

Hassle free little airport. My bag was first on the conveyor belt and there were two older gents on hand to give helpful advice like where to get a taxi into town. A pleasure to pass through here and the snow capped trees made the approach and landing memorable.

Lovely little regional airport. Enjoy flying into small towns. You can pull right up to the door, no hassles and kind people.
