On Tuesday I found a package notice stuck to the front window of the apartment building saying Purolator came by Monday at 12:30pm to drop off a package. I had no phone message saying they tried to reach me, so they came to the apartment, stuck up the notice and left. The notice said to pick up said package at Purolator between 2-6pm Monday-Friday and it would be held for 5 days (Canada Post holds for 2 weeks I believe). Wednesday after work, I got a taxi to and from Purolator (total cost $34) which is out in the industrial area tucked away. My package was in acceptable condition and was obtained quick and easy with the notice and my ID. The woman at the front desk was very nice and offered delivery to my work address in the future if I call them and let them know (she and the package being in good condition are the only reasons I'm giving a 2-star instead of a 1-star review). This will likely add on a couple days delay on delivery she said, but in my opinion, it's better than paying $34 taxi + ~$30 shipping for a total of $60-70 shipping on a $60 product and spending 1 hour to pick up the package. When the work-delivery thing happens in the future, I will review again about how it worked.
Overall- this company delivers during work hours when few people are home, does not seem to even try to contact you when they deliver (as evidenced by a lack of a missed call/call record on my cellphone), and is non-accessible by those without their own vehicles without paying out the nose for a taxi. IF you have a vehicle, it's more of just an annoyance rather than the expensive and time consuming process I had. Only positive: package wasn't damaged and the woman at the front desk was nice, prompt, and let me wait inside in the warmth for my taxi.
