We had Sunter Homes just insulate and frame our basement, plus electrical and some plumbing work. They were outstanding and professional at every step of the process. I can't be happier with my choice in using their services. Although the job was fairly straightforward they were quick to bring to my attention the small things that are easy to overlook but can have a big impact down the road. The project manager and guys doing the work were quick to address any questions and concerns I expressed and were always proactive in asking us if we had any questions at the end of each day. The work was well done, they cleaned up at the end of the day, they were always considerate. Highly recommend them.

Worked with Sunter homes on a massive renovation in my baseement. There were some complications along the way, but they were fixed right at once without delaying the finish time or increasing the costs. Once it was all said and done, the basement turned into my dream mancave and has been well worth the investment!

We had Sunter Homes do extensive renovation work on our ground floor. We cannot stress enough how happy and satisfied we are not only with the end result – which is nothing short of amazing – but also with the whole process. All team members who worked on our project paid unparalleled attention to details and were very meticulous. Here are just a few examples of Sunter Homes’ work in our home and the reason we are so pleased with it. Flooring : Sunter Homes did a fantastic job to tile our floors. We chose a porcelain tile that was difficult and time consuming to install. The tiles were long and narrow, and some were warped. A few times, they had to undo part of a day’s work to make sure the tiles were well aligned, because for them, leaving slightly crooked tiles was not an option. Then, they took the necessary steps to keep the project on track as the tiling proved to be more time consuming than anticipated. They also advised us on the best transitions to use between our tiles and our hardwood floors. The transitions are discreet and make the overall look seamless. Casing and mouldings : When the time came to install the baseboards and casings, the team put in a lot of work to make sure the joints were well done. They would work the pieces until everything fit just right. They also advised us on options to end certain moulding sections elegantly. The end result is perfect. Grouting and caulking : The grouting and caulking was also another big job where attention to detail was second to none. The caulking seams are so neatly done they are hardly noticeable. As for the grouting, there was a lot of grout to which a finishing touch needed to be applied at the end - with a small brush no less -, and no line of grout was forgotten. Attention to details / going above and beyond : When our foreman, Jon, got hold of the kitchen cabinet plans, he was able to spot a few problems before the cabinet installation date. This way, we were able to have things corrected with our kitchen cabinet company before installation. We are forever grateful for the help and advice we got from Jon on how to deal with these issues. And sometimes, it was just about the little things…Like helping us moving the old fridge out of the house at the end of the project. Customer relations : At every point during the project, we had a good communication going with Adrian and Jon. Just before we left for our summer vacation, Jon stayed longer with us to confirm many aspects to make sure that the slightest detail was taken care of to our liking. No detail was too insignificant. For example, we discussed the exact height of our new mantel piece, the way it should be installed with the new fireplace facing and how the mouldings should transition near the fireplace hearth. Also, every time a decision had to be made about the project, Sunter Homes would advise us on the pros and cons of different options to help us choose the one we were most comfortable with. Professionalism : All Sunter Homes’ team members were very respectful of our property and made sure any subcontractors were as well. They also cleaned the work area well after each day, allowing us to stay in our home while the renovations were ongoing. They were extremely accommodating and just a joy to work with thanks to their good nature and friendliness. Sunter Homes is a model of professionalism, reliability and integrity. They obviously take great pride in the quality of their work down to the smallest finishing detail. We recommend wholeheartedly Sunter Homes to anyone looking to hire a good company for a renovation project, big or small. We are looking forward to booking them again for another renovation project scheduled in a year or two.
