Enterprise deserves no stars. Or if possible, negative stars. I only chose one star because this program would not let me post my complaint without doing so.
I attempted to rent a car on November 1st. I made the reservation through my employer at least a week prior. When I arrived I was told that they did not have a car available even though they acknowledged that I had reserved one. This made no sense to me as I walked past several cars in the parking lot and saw cars in the overflow lot on my way in. I was told that I would be contacted by noon regarding having a car available. When I had not received a call by 13:30, I called the Broadway location to inquire. I was greeted rather hostilely even though I had not done anything wrong. I was asked to whom I had spoken. Since there were only two young ladies in the facility when I arrived that morning, if I wasn't talking to the person with whom I spoke that morning, then I was speaking with the young lady that sat and listened when I was there that morning. She then rudely told me that if I didn't get a call at 12:00 then they still didn't have a car. I told her that I didn't understand why that would be since I had made a RESERVATION long before actually needing the car. I then asked if there was a remedy such as contacting another Enterprise facility and borrowing a car from them. She stated that all other facilities were in the same position, and could not rent me a car. I became exasperated and stated, "I'm stranded." She replied, "I guess you are." She then told me that I could try renting a car from one of your competitors. Which is exactly what I did. I rented a car from Thrifty. When I arrived at the airport to pick up the car that I had rented seamlessly and which was waiting on my arrival, I noticed that there were what seamed to be 20+ cars in the Enterprise spots. I felt lied to and devalued as a customer. This entire episode is bad enough, but this is the SECOND time that I have reserved a car with Enterprise at the Broadway location only to arrive on the date of pick up, and be told that the car was not available. The last time that it happened the young lady (not one of the employees present on 11/1/18) was extremely apologetic, and attempted to make it right by calling another customer and asking that he return his car earlier than expected. Otherwise I would have missed my cousin's wedding. On another occasion that I rented from this location I was delayed because that same young lady was the only employee that showed up to work on time, and not only was she handling the rentals for multiple customers at the same time, she was washing cars in her dress and heals! I have not seen her at this location in a while, and can only assume that she quit out of frustration.
With this most recent encounter I felt lied to and devalued as a customer. I have been a fairly consistent customer. This summer alone I or a family member has rented a car from this location four times. I had even encouraged my niece to purchase her first vehicle from Enterprise. All of that changed on November 1st. I will NEVER rent a car from Enterprise again. I will encourage my family members to NEVER rent a car with Enterprise again. I will also be contacting my HR department to inform them about how Enterprise treated me and encourage them to change the vendor with whom they do business as I rented this car through my employer.
