NBS has been a favorite place to visit since I was a kid. Sad there isn't many tenting sites left.

Nice place for outdoor activities and group quadding with a good view of natural beauty. Very hospitable host family and staffs. The place needs a little bit of upgrade though.

A beautiful place for family gatherings

I gave this RV park 5 stars because of its location to Bonavista and the fact that the owner (Shaun) is really going to make additions and more improvements to the park. The setting along a small beaver lake is great. Quiet location. No wifi but maybe in the future ? The amenities are basic but the showers produce good hot water. I didn’t sight any laundry but this is really a 2-3 nights stay park, so not really required. The owner is building a new bbq indoor area which sounds great, when completed (soon). We saw Puffins nearby, icebergs ( could even get some ice pieces ), several other wild birds and beavers !!- which my wife loved to see. Nearby is the Bonavista Social Club- a must visit. Go to the lighthouse too. Whales in July I’m told. There are hiking trails up the back of the park too, if interested in bird or moose spot. Highly recommend.

Great camping experience. Close to town but secluded enough to enjoy the outdoors.

I recently had my first visit to Topsail Beach on a very warm (for here) day. First thing that shocked me was practically no wind - VERY rare for here. Not sure there is generally less wind in this area but it was a great surprise and hopefully will be like that when I return again. There are picnic tables, washrooms, I saw one bbq, as well as a great manicured grass area that had many Lupins surrounding it that you could bring a towel and lay out on. The beach portion is pebbles, not sand, but also fine to bring a towel and lay out on. Water was freezing (obviously) but there is a river that runs into it that is warmer if you wanna take a wade or dip. We also spent about an hour hiking the trail that begins at the end of the grass section (an East Coast trail that is about 2 hrs of moderate hiking to Cbs) and really enjoyed exploring it. Highly recommended and saw many places that you could veer off of to have a picnic or just enjoy the views. Definitely take some time and enjoy a warm day there. Easy to get to and sure to be a great way to spend some summer days.
