Cosmetic/Plastic Surgery

My husband was a surveyor for over 40 years. Due to years of sun exposure he has to have skin lesions removed on an annual basis. My husband's previous surgeon retired suddenly so IU gave us three names. I recognized Dr Baldwin's name because my brother had a mole on his temple removed by Dr Baldwin several years ago. My brother really like him. So we made an appointment. He surgically removed a lesion at the base of my husband's neck. No follow-up appointment was needed because the stitches were disolveable. You can hardly tell where the incision is. I wished we'd met Dr Baldwin sooner. Its hard to find a good 'likeable' surgeon now days. I know we'll be back to see him.

I left the practice because of the nurse to be honest. She is the RUDEST woman alive to children and their parents. I went to another doctor to have these tubes removed and that is when I found out there was a serious situation at hand. I had been taking my son to Dr Gorups office because his ears continued to be infected and just oozing blood and puss.... Dr Gorup originally place the tubes when my son was an infant and had been his ENT all along. I was told to "wait" till the tubes fall out. After several visits (and 6 months later) finally a surgery was scheduled to remove and replace them and the instructions I got wrong and was sent home with no surgery - THANK GOODNESS. Now we know that the body has taken over the tubes and his ear drums have been rupturing around the tubes and polyps have grown over the top of the tubes and the ear drum and are sealing the ear canal. We are having re constructive surgery to get these buried tubes out and avoid any further hearing loss. Unfortunately he can not place new tubes during the first surgery and my son will have to endure a much more extensive surgery because of all this. To say I am upset, an understatement. He is a 3 year old kid - and has lived in extreme pain for so long because of this. I really trusted him. I'm no doctor but I did take my son back time after time because his ears just kept leaking blood and he seemed in so much pain. I was told the tubes are doing their job and allowing it to drain.. It made sense to me, I wish I had left sooner and looked for a second opinion. I can not comment on Dr Gorup as a plastic surgeon.... I can only pray he is MUCH better with adults.

He is worth waiting for - and you might wait awhile in the office, but he is very thorough, caring, and knowledgeable. He goes above and beyond most doctors!

Absolutely the best in the world Dr. Matthews is a genius with a scalpel and is the best in the office he will actually listen to you with your concerns and questions he is very understanding and very passionate the very very best at what he does I would recommend him to anyone that was thinking about having any kind of orthopedic surgery even if someone else as told you you need surgery a second opinion is good to get Dr Matthews has refused to replace my knees because of my health and my weight instead of taking the money and ruining my chance at having good knees later if I can lose the weight the whole staff is great people I hope this helps you in deciding what to do thank you very much
