I moved to Vancouver for school a few months ago, its been hard making good connections in this city and being an introvert really didn’t help at all. I was struggling to stay positive and optimistic and have a life along with school, the city felt cold and I really missed home. I was recommended to visit Jericho Counselling by a professor of mine; she stressed the importance of mental health and I hadn’t realized that I needed that help. Jericho Counselling has been helpful since the first time I emailed them, they have a great counselling program and sliding scale fees which really helps being away from home trying to make it in this city. I have been working with Rockie for several months now both personally and with my husband. His name says it all...the clarity coach. Rockie has been a beacon of hope guiding me through situations where I couldn't see which way to turn. He has become a friend and someone I can always turn to for direction. Friendly reception, and very professional and friendly counselor. He is experienced, confident, and well connected in his field. Always researching more, he cares about his clients’ progress and works hard to help them through their issues. He manages to maintain a good balance of challenging you but also giving you a safe space to breathe. Very respectful and aware, he has also done training as an EMDR therapist, and is very effective with this therapy. Mindright Counselling has won multiple awards for excellence in 2017 including the Small Business BC awards Premier’s People’s Choice. I've found Alistair from bc counselling website when I was searching a trauma counsellor and I booked a free consultation to see if He is a good fit for me.I've found He is very easy to be with and compassionate.He even went over time to put me at ease and gave me a lot of information about the most current and effective type of therapies out there besides what He provides.He was unbiased and encouraged me to try out a few different kind of therapists who uses different approaches to find the best fir for me. I first got to know Glynis after reading her articles on Family Scapegoating. As I read them, I felt like she knew exactly what I had gone through. The affirmation of her counsel and help were tremendously healing, to my life, and helped me to see that I would come through the horror of what my family did to me and grow into a healthy person. Her help was so impactful, I used one of her quotes for a book that I wrote to help women who have left abusive relationships (Give Her Wings: Help and Healing After Abuse). Glynis has also helped our non-profit organization, several times, to raise funds to help other women who went through what I went through. I am so grateful for this woman and her wisdom!
