Decks & Railing

We recently had a deck installed by Blue Sky and are very pleased with the outcome. Their workers had a strong attention to detail but still got the job done fast! We will definitely be using them again when it comes time to install fences in our backyard. Highly recommended!

This past summer our street was under construction which necessitated the reconstruction of our porch stairs and replacement of the porch railing - this to the porch we had constructed within the last 3 years. When we first decided to upgrade our porch we looked to Hickory Dickory Decks for advice and materials. At that time we constructed the porch ourselves. Hickory Dickory Decks, specifically Darryl Szusz, provided excellent advice and suggestions as we worked on this project. This year, as a result of the street construction, we needed to reconstruct the porch stairs in order to match the grading of our walkway and property. Again we looked to Darryl and his crew at Hickory Dickory Decks and we were not disappointed. Darryl provided a quick turn-around on the quote we needed and waited for our call on when to proceed with the reconstruction. When street construction was finally finished and we were able to proceed he arranged for a work crew to begin the work on our porch stairs even though they were exceptionally busy. The crew that was sent to our site was professional, efficient and hard working. When the railings arrived and we hit a bit of a road block in doing the installation ourselves, Darryl made the trip to our home to look at the railings and helped us problem-solve the installation. Now that the job is complete we couldn't be more pleased with the end result. Our overall experience with this company has been positive and rewarding. We appreciate the patience, guidance, assistance and craftsmanship we have experienced working with this company and its employees. We will not hesitate to look to Hickory Dickory Decks and Darryl Szusz for advice, materials and craftsmen to complete our next outdoor project. Drives very slow in the passing lane :(

The product looks fine, but be careful where you install it. We put it in our carport where rain water runs in and accumulates in large puddles. Every time it rains, we have to wash out the entire area to remove all the excess puddling AND it gets very muddy. So requires more than one sponging each time it rains. The water turns to ice in the winter and is extremely dangerous. Its an expensive product and will have to be replaced. It requires far too much maintenance.

RUN AWAY!!! This company is more concerned about what they can get away with rather than doing a quality job. Very poor workmanship. 4 months to complete a five day project. He had two teenagers working on my property and there was no oversight. He had his workers spreading topsoil by hand for days after he took is skid steer away. Tree stumps that were to be remove/ground out were simply covered in topsoil and are now coming through. I have a gravel driveway that my car sinks to its axles in in the spring - no drainage mat installed as promised. Broken stones installed on my walkway and all armor stone is sinking. Could not correct deficiencies when given multiple attempts to do so. Warranty on workmanship and materials are worthless. DOES NOT honour Better Business Bureau mediation - this business was accredited when I hired him but seems they did not renew. Complaint process started in October 2015 and as of this date, they won't respond to me or the Better Business Bureau - they promised a partial refund in October 2015 and have still have not supplied this to me.

Tim and his crew created a one-of-a-kind front yard garden/entranceway for us. We didn’t want a cookie cutter look and Gardens of Prestige exceeded our expectations. They worked through all the challenges (weather etc.) and delivered something beautiful. We highly recommend them.

We recently hired Techno Metal Posts for our business to install multiple new decks on a building. They were extremely professional and arrived and had all the posts set in a single day! We are very happy with the results and would highly recommend their service.

Straight Arrow Roofing was a great experience from start to finish. Joel was professional and went above and beyond in both preparing me for what was to happen as well as during clean up. My driveway was left cleaner than when they started (truthfully, cleaner than it's ever been). Process was straight forward. Quote and Package were nicely prepared in a timely manner - his team showed up prepared and ready to work. If anyone brings up in conversation that they need a roof I will be recommending Joel and Straight Arrow Roofing in a heartbeat.

The bottom line is awesome people with tremendous talent and integrity that create innovative splendor around your home. But I have to say more… I love these people! They transformed my front yard a few years ago with a unique design full of colour and texture that I would never have come up with on my own. I’ve worked with other companies before but none as creative and skilled as Nadia and Rob at Inspired Landscapes. I had to have them back to overhaul my backyard this Spring. I love that they design and execute my entire projects themselves and don’t just act as contractors with no hands-on experience. Rob did meticulous stonework, stamped concrete, a one-off wood and metal fence that leaves me speechless, and figured out how to give our gazebo a brand new look for a fraction of the cost of a new one. And, just as the first time, Nadia left her signature in my gardens. Their designs are so beautiful and cohesive, I never want to leave home.
