Hearing technician very helpful, answering all my questions and giving good advice.

I would recommend Shapiro Hearing Aids in Lewiston to everyone. During the past 15 years, I’ve purchased three sets of hearing aids at another location, but I needed to get my new ones at a place nearer home. Nancy Whittier did a thorough job of checking my hearing. The ReSound hearing aids that she recommended are excellent. Like all of the hearing aids I’ve had in the past, these are programmable. When I walked out of her office, the programs were perfect. She is the first person ever to get the music program correct on the first attempt. The volume control on the ReSound hearing aids is easy to adjust and works well. During the past two weeks I’ve had a chance to test the hearing aids in a variety of situations and have been pleased with the results. In a crowded restaurant and at home with a soft-spoken great-grandson, they consistently worked well. For the first time in years, I can hear the television at the same volume as my husband without having to use the “TV Ears.”

I was just going to begin the ordeal of picking out hearing aides and from the minute I walked in I felt right at home and knew that everyone was there to help. Dr. Heffron was very knowledgeable and put me at ease. I highly recommend him and Mrs. Jones, his assistant. They were both very professional.

My husband and I have been customers of Berrie’s Hearing and Optical Center for quite a few years and cannot say enough great things about the friendly and professional services provided by Anna and Michael.. Anna is a well qualified audiologist - warm, friendly and welcoming - and is always available to adjust our hearing aids if need be. Michael is a warm and witty man with exceptional taste in eyewear - not to mention the patience of a saint. The selection of eyewear is exceptional - never run-of-the-mill styles! Outstanding service!!

I was devastated to learn my hearing aid tube snapped in half while putting on my hearing aid. I had 1 hour before leaving for Massachusetts for my uncles memorial service and certainly would not be able to hear without it. My other tube was compromised and I panicked. I couldn’t call so I quickly drove to Audio’D and Finetone Hearing Aid Center in Windham to see if they could help. Within 30 minutes, I had new tubing in both hearing aids and it was done with a smile. The staff are super nice and I am happy to know they are there for any future needs!!! Julie B

Mark and Becky changed our lives! My 91 yr old father-in-law, whom we care for in our home, has profound hearing loss (close to deaf). Even with his old hearing aids, he was unable to communicate, which made him a discouraged, homebound hermit (with grandchildren who were sad Grampy couldn't understand them). Mark's thorough testing, ideal product selection and service, and family education brought new life to Grampy -- company was welcome, talking on a speakerphone with excited grandkids became regular, speaking with his medical providers lost its frustration and inaccuracy, and even got him back to church weekly. Most importantly, Mark taught us as caregivers how to communicate around Grampy's cognitive decline, slowing processing, and severe nerve damage. He showed us via testing what sounds Grampy could not process, and techniques to use in talking to Grampy so he could best understand us. Sharing these tips and tricks during his hospitalization was fabulous -- the nurses loved these "crib notes" posted over his bed. We chose this shop based on the glowing recommendation of another caregiver. The service provided here is so top-notch and compassionate, Grampy looked forward to his maintenance appointments as a time to visit with caring friends. It's a small place This is not my primary hearing aid doctor. Im suprised they somewhat temporarily fix the hearing aids so i could take them to have a tune up. Also to the owner's please note on what brands you can tune up and what not far more helpful.

Shawn was a very welcoming, professional and extremely personable. My 91 year old Dad was comfortable with him. He explained & demonstrated everything in a way that Dad could follow. Shawn did not rush our visit at all. The office was neat and clean. We would highly recommend him to others that might need his hearing services (So. Portland, ME location). I'm anxious & excited for my Dad to get his NEW hearing aids!
