Martial Arts

They are extremely patient, fun and FIRM with our 3 year old. She really likes it and doesn't realize she is learning discipline and respect in all areas of life.

My husband and son have loved training under Master Hubley and staff for several years now. Not only do you learn martial arts- you learn to set your goals and accomplish them. My son is involved with their after school and summer camp programs and has enjoyed both. Nothing to lose but try it- it may change you life!

Master Lee is an amazing instructor. We have seen very positive changes in our Son in the just over two months he has been talking this course. He looks forward to going and is more than willing to give up the xbox and youtube, which says a great deal in itself. My wife and I recently stayed to watch one of the classes and now enjoy doing it on a regular basis. I am proud of the progress our Son has made. Master Lee is great with the kids all together. You couldn't ask for a better teacher in my opinion. Thank You for coming to Mechanicsville.

As a former student of 6 years, I would like to say: at the start, (Ms.) Instructor Gross and Instructor Debut were the most amazing instructors I have ever faced. As time got on, they were both let go or transferred. After so, Instructor Cornthwaite and Instructor Mangrum were the replacements. Instructor Mangrum was charged with a DUI after the fact that I left. It became a toxic area filled with abuse (not disciplinary training) and my mother pulled us out. Meanwhile, I transferred to a local karate place, in which I realized those were 6 years of my life wasted. They taught me to the minimum and sucked money out of my mother.

Awesome gym! I travel for work and these guys were all great to roll with. Now go train!

I have attended Pil Seung Taekwondo for five years and enjoyed every moment of it! I love going to class because of the people and great exercises. I am the most fit I have ever been because of Taekwondo.

This is a excellent place to train! I have been training here for about 9 months now and have never been disappointed with a lesson. I would recommend this place to anyone wanting to train or that needs help losing weight. Training here have been a great place for me to lose weight and learn self-defense.

Universal Kempo Karate has it's roots in Hawaii and is overseen by 10th degree Professor Martin T. Buell. The Universal Kempo Karate schools in Virginia are overseen by 8th degree Assistant Professor Christopher Ragone. Universal Kempo is a style that is very "real world" self defense tailored to all levels of physical shape and size. If you want to join a school that you can train in many different states and areas, Universal Kempo is for you. You can go to schools in Hawaii, Colorado, Washington state and many others and they will welcome you like you are family. They believe in family and many students have their children training also. Come check it out, you won't regret it.
