We love Tiger USA- Master Ma and his assistants are fun, knowledgeable and energetic. My son is always eager to go to class. True to their word, Martial Arts instills much more than form- respect, focus, self awareness and discipline have all been noticeable. I highly recommend this dojang.

Superior Martial Arts has been wonderful for our children, helping to give them self-confidence and mind/body strength. Mr. Nunez is an excellent instructor and caring mentor.

Tried to come to a class, especially since they say, "Visitors are always welcome in our dojo, either to observe or to join a class." Dojo was closed. Not sure when I'd be 'welcome,' then, since the class was on the schedule. Unprofessional to have incorrect info on the website, especially something as major as that - who knows what else is wrong.

My daughter and I were members of the Charlottesville Judo Academy from 2010-2014. The club, under the leadership of sensei Tim Redden, provides world class instruction in a supportive and family centered environment. In fact, many of the adult members joined after seeing how much fun our children were having. Judo offers a lifelong path to fitness, competition, self-defense, and personal growth. The club is relatively small and extremely close-knit, allowing instructors give personal attention to every student. Safety is a priority; judo is a competitive contact sport, but their emphasis on proper technique, and the club's exceptionally high quality 2" training mats ensure that students can train safely. During the four years that I trained with the Charlottesville Judo Academy, I lost 50 lbs. and gained friends for life. If you are interested in martial arts training in the Charlottesville area, I can't recommend this club highly enough.

I have been a member of Charlottesville MMA in Virginia for seven months and the people and coaches there are amazing my son is 7 and he does the kids program and is learning so much he is not being bullied at school anymore he is learning self respect and discipline and I am also learning self respect and discipline for myself please come and check us out

UpLevel is fantastic for many reasons, but a big one is that the instructors live what they teach - respect, discipline, integrity and achievement. They're amazing role models, especially for kids. Everyone is pushed - in the most encouraging way - to challenge themselves and constantly improve. You'll learn karate, but their lessons apply to life in general. And they make it fun on top of everything else!

Amazing business, they put on an incredible Chinese Lion Dancing show for our library patrons. They will thrilled.

I have been a long time participant at International Black Belt Center (since 2005). Prior to IBBCV I searched to find a school where students learned respect, for both martial arts and each other. I was delighted to find IBBCV and the Kwon, Jae-Hwa traditional Taekwon-Do system. The system is challenging both mentally and physically, yet being traditional, it does not encourage aggressive behavior or a 'fighting' mentality. It's perfect for students of all ages!

Higher price but still awesome place

We love Mt. Kim! My three children have been students for almost 2 years now. It is exciting to watch your child progress from basic forms to more complex ones and to see their confidence, discipline and strength grow. Their leadership class is a wonderful tool for building confidence and mental strength. What makes Mountain Kim stand out is their ability to train anyone and to help each person achieve their individual potential. Mountain Kim also provides an energetic environment focused on personal growth. You will enjoy coming to class and meeting the awesome families and kids that go here!

If you are thinking about beginning martial arts classes, I highly recommend Mt. Kim Fredericksburg. My family began taking taekwondo classes 6 months ago and I have nothing but positive feedback about the staff and the school. Master Danny is professional, accommodating and totally approachable! I really can't say enough about the instructors. I have been so impressed with the ability of these young adults to work so well with students of all ages and abilities. They make class fun and challenging for the children, while maintaining a positive atmosphere of discipline and respect. I am one of a handful of adults that take classes with my children and I always feel that the activities in class are appropriate for everyone…plus I get a great workout! The programming is really well planned and is a perfect balance of physical activity and life skill development! In a short period of time, I’ve noticed improvements in my children’s strength, coordination, and confidence. They love taking classes and beam with pride with each broken board and every new belt! This is the best extracurricular activity we’ve ever done and I love that we can do it as a family.

The ATA BlackBelt Academy of Virginia is THE best TKD school we have attended. We have been involved in TKD off and on for many years however did not ever think we would find one that would accommodate our special needs son. Until we met Mrs Wargo. Chief Master and Mrs Wargo are amazing people and outstanding instructors. We can't say enough good things about the school.

This class is awesome. Really teaches kids they can have fun, and listen at the same time. My son loves this class. He has learned so much, from how to count in a different language, to manners, listening to instructions. It really is great all around..

After moving to a new home in 2011 and training BJJ for a couple of years, I decided to stop-by Tidewater BJJ in order to find a new place to train. What a great decision.... Jonathan and Dan are fantastic instructors/people and their facility is top notch. I started at their academy as an experienced blue belt and felt like a new white belt when rolling with the guys at the academy.... The technique they teach and the manner in which they teach it are exemplary, and you really get a feel that they care about your progress and try to explain things multiple ways in case sometimes you just aren't getting it. Both Dan and Jonathan kicked by rear-end every time we were on the mat, but it was great being tested by such high caliber instructors. Yes, they don't just teach, but they get on the mat and roll with you regularly.... Not many BJJ instructors do that week-in and week-out. I left Tidewater early in 2013 as a new purple belt, but not because I wanted to. I am a member of the US Navy and had to leave because of a new duty station. If not for that, I definitely would still be training there. Great Academy, Great Instructors, Great People, and Great Training. Continued success to Tidewater BJJ.... you guys earned it. ~Cliff
