Private Schools

I am incredibly lucky to have attended PNCS from pre-school through 8th grade. This school was not just a school, but a family. It was such an amazing thing to be a little first grader and feel loved and cared about and protected by the upper grade kids. All of the students come together to help each other grow and learn and shine. The teachers always created a loving, warm environment for us to come to each day. The education that I received was above and beyond standards. Of course we learned math, and reading, and writing, and science...but our teachers pushed us to delve deeper, to ask questions, to research, to explore. We attended symphonies, dissected eye balls, did community service, took a weekend camping trip to Gettysburg, and wrote and performed plays. When I went on to high school I excelled. I had all of the skills I needed to take on chemistry, physics, and advanced english classes and I loved it. PNCS taught me to love learning. PNCS will always hold a special place in my heart and I know that I can always return and will be welcomed with open arms.

My son was being recruited to play college football and needed to graduate early from high school. His current high school had no means to help him achieve his goal. Westland Christian allowed him to dual enroll and compete all the courses be needed to complete his HS education and issued him a diploma. My son is a 29 ACT, 3.9 GPA student, takes after mom, and found the classes at Westland Christian tough and enjoyable. We are so thankful for the great christian ministry of Westland Christian who allowed my son to achieve God's calling on his life.

I have been at St. Bede School for a number of years. My oldest is a graduate who went on to Oakland Catholic High School, testing into several honors and higher grade level classes right away due in large part to the attentive teachers who provided her guidance as well as outstanding academic instruction while at St. Bede. To this day, she cherishes her time at the school - the friends made and all the great memories. I currently have three younger children there, and they benefit from newer accelerated reader programs, advanced math instruction and one on one assistance in addition to enjoying the same diverse, community-minded group of parents and educators who, over the school's many years, have formed the school into the wonderful place that it is today. It is a place of tradition but also one of innovation. Kids can explore a variety of activities from after school chess instruction to musical theater camps or from hands on themed art clubs to a comic book enthusiasts club. My little one participated and placed in a national French competition - my middle child has been able to use his energy and knack for performing in everything from Beat Poetry Day to a dance to "It's Raining Tacos" - and my older boy was able to participate in CMU's "Moving 4th Into Engineering" through the science program at St. Bede. All have delivered food to the Greater Pittsburgh Community Food Bank, taken walking art and history tours of the Strip and downtown Pittsburgh and spent time each month at the Frick House and Museum in the neighborhood, walking with their classmates and teachers through autumn leaves or in falling snow to the beautiful grounds right there in Pt. Breeze. I feel that they are safe, happy, and getting the best education I can provide them in my area.

This is by far the most unprofessional daycare I've ever know. Within 2 months of my 3 year attending they lost her winter coat and had no remorse or misplaced her jackets and her teacher didn't care or help look for it her excuse was she came to work at 3 my daughter's been bullied and punched by the little boys in her class countless times and no one seemed to care they told me kids will be kids. I picked her up from daycare and could hear one of the little boys teasing her while her teacher sat there playing with her nails as if she heard nothing . The little boy continued to tease her about peeing her pants, when I did see that she did wet her pants I brought it to her teachers attention and asked why no one called me and she walked pass me and said "I told you in start at 3" although my daughter was at the daycare until 6 I continued to the office to try to get answers and once again they didn't care AT ALL . I would never recommend this daycare I witnessed kids eating breakfast with snotty noses while NOT ONE teacher cared to wipe their noses kids running around with shoe laces untied and the teacher telling the kid your mother is here now. COMPLETELY UNPROFESSIONAL I feel like the teachers do not care about the kids and the only go to get a check. NEVER AGAIN
