My daughter joined The Waldorf School of San Diego in Kindergarten and is now in 11th Grade there, and thriving! The teachers in the high school are experts in their respective fields, are Waldorf certified teachers and they truly love working with adolescent students. The class sizes are small, the students all want to be there and do their best, they are respectful and accomplished. They have a rich academic curriculum but offer all the arts (dance, singing, orchestra, jazz ensemble, painting, drawing, theatre, costume, sports and so much more!). And they don't make the students specialize too early so all the students participate in all the subjects! These are happy, healthy kids! The school is AWSNA and WASC accredited, they are also an SAT certified site. Take the tour and see for yourself!

St Columba has a great Pre- School. Ms. Trisha is the Director of Childcare has done an outstanding job along with Ms. Jacqueline. We were blessed for our kids to stay at their care. Also, the kindergarten teacher Mrs Whiteman was an excellent teacher which is no longer at St Columba. She teach the kids how to read and was a very challenging teacher, we were amazed by her teaching ability. Our child was fortunate to have her Mrs. Whitman as a kindergarten teacher. Our Child is now in First Grade Mrs. Madsen is the teacher. I wish I could say something nice about her but I don’t think she is suitable to be a first grade teacher. For example in the beginning until now she makes too many mistakes. She does not have no structure. I would not recommend her for a 1st grade teacher you would just be wasting your money. I hope this help for those parents who want their kids to be challenge and like to learn more. I would give a 4 Star if the situation was different with Mrs. Madsen.

There is one teacher that is not very nice to the children and she is quite disrespectful. Her name is Mrs. Oldham and she is the music teacher. Saint James isn’t recommended. Sorry if you were thinking about this school.

2nd grade at SDJA and things are great. The campus is beautiful, the teachers are friendly and so are the families. Class sizes are tiny ... 14-15 kids! Students do PE 3x, science, music, and computers every week, they do gardening, plays and performances, go on field trips and there area after school activities. Keep in mind this is a religious school (but does not feel as religious as something like Chabad)... so there is a large amount of time spent on Hebrew and religious studies ... at least 2 hours per day. Like with any school however, I think education starts at home. We have been reading to our child since she was born so my daughter probably had a head start. But SDJA provides reading assignments, on-line tools, and now assigns book reports. They are spelling is 5 to 6 letter words with different vowel combinations (ou, ow, oe). They teach to the skill level so my second grade student is doing 3rd grade math. So I don't know what some of the other comments are referring to ... it just isn't true. Like with anything... you have to apply yourself!

Fairmont Private Schools - North Tustin Campus (Pre-K - 8th Grade)
12421 Newport Ave, Santa Ana, California, 92705, United States
I attended Fairmont North Tustin for junior high. My teachers were amazing, and helped me discover my strengths and talents. They set me up to be successful for high school, college, and beyond. Now, 11 years later, I am back as a part of the school faculty. I have been given the opportunity to give back to the school that gave me so much. The number one goal at Fairmont North Tustin is to provide each child with the best possible education experience. Every member of the campus, including administrators, teachers, and staff, share this vision. It empowers us all to put the child first in every decision we make. I am lucky to work in a school with such a vibrant and positive community of educators. Our families trust us to take care of their children for as long as they're on our campus, and that is a promise we strive to fulfill each day we come to work.
