Private Schools

Our daughter attended Rock Prairie Montessori and everything that this school offers is top notch. The facility is beautiful with large windows in every room, a massive gym, and a great outdoor play area. The teachers/guides work with your child and create an awesome environment. As a testimony, Ms. Monica even taught our 3-year-old daughter to meditate and slow breath 3 deep breaths to calm down. That alone deserves 5 stars. As a comparison my nephew attends the top Montessori school in Portland, OR and my sister and brother-in-law expressed that Rock Prairie Montessori has a beautiful campus and programs and activities that even they do not have. Regardless, this is a great school with great staff.

Both of my kids went through this school. All four years for each. The level of dedication of the staff is over the top! SAT scores have been the highest in the region for years. The ability of the staff to teach all subjects as successfully as they do AND in a Christ centered way has always amazed me.

My kids have been going to St. Peter for a couple of years. The staff is great and the students are wonderful. I have no doubt that the education standards are high. They make shifts in how they do things to make sure that students are reaching their potential. They even hired a part-time teacher to help in one grade so that struggling students could get more one on one attention to keep them up to speed. St. Peter has a great atmosphere where the kids all know each other and the older ones watch out and model good behavior for the younger ones. I've never had so many doors held open for me by kids. Most grades are combined (1-2), (3-4), etc. I love this because each year the classes have different kids and there isn't the constant clicking that I saw when they were in public school. The greatest value of St. Peter's is that they educate my kids about Jesus and God's plan for them. They learn to read scripture and to rely on God in their lives, a lesson I hope they will carry on to their children. I went to public school growing up and thought it was decent, but now that I see the difference that a parochial education can make I would never place my kids back in public school. A side note: St. Peter also partners with Key to Life in Weston, which offers preschool and aftercare, and with Northland Lutheran High school in Kronenwetter. This makes transitioning to these other schools easier. Northland provides busing to and from St. Peter and to Key to Life (in the afternoon). My kids can't wait to go to Northland!

Both of our children attended Montessori School of Wausau, and we were thrilled with it each and every day. The facilities are clean, well lighted, well kept, and safe. The staff is dedicated, caring, understanding, and enthusiastic. They work hard to help the children succeed. They were flexible, helpful and worked with us the provide the best experience for our children. They were open to us asking them to focus on areas of learning with our children, and both left with the beginnings of reading and some math. Not once did either of our children not look forward to going to school, and we were sorry to see our youngest "graduate" and move on to elementary school!

The teacher's here are pretty cool even when the AC doesn't work..... The food here is amazing!!

I attended Sacred Heart back in 1970-1978, Back then, over 108 kids were at this school with grades 1-8 (2 in each classroom). The Felician Sisters along with the two lay teachers ensured that we receive a very well rounded education. Not only in the basics of Reading, Writing, and Arithmetic, but also in life lessons itself and respect. Respect for each other, for our school, our country, and of course, respect for authority. Life here is simple, with emphasis on doing well, to include back then, how to write cursive with clarity and elegance, not haste and unintelligibility. Having the opportunity to visit the school for a day on March 11, 2016, after spending over 33 years away serving in the US Air Force, and now as a contractor in the Dept. of Defense, I was pleasantly surprised to find those same ethics are still in place, even in today's society with it's differing levels of standards. Sacred Heart still instills the basic qualities of being a good decent human being from the youngest to the oldest, from the principle, the teachers, the sisters, and even the ladies who cook and serve the kids lunch. It's a group effort of survival in a school of just over 30 students. Everyone pitches in, everyone helps, everyone is responsible for the day to day activities and teachings that seem to have gotten lost in today's fast paced, electronic, and individualized society. I can truly attest that the very disciplines and standards that were required at Sacred Heart, have given me the advantage in all of my life's endeavors. The very love and passion by the staff to help each and every student succeed is unprecedented and almost impossible to find in today's society and teaching.
